Zentangle® a UMT and an Inchie

Today, Laura on the Diva Challenge presented us with a UMT (Use my tangle) called Crux by Henrike Bratz. My first thought was, "I can't do that!", but then I remembered that I am a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher), so I can do anything HAHA! All I have to do is pretend I am teaching and I CAN do anything. So, here it is on a Renaissance tile with shading done in Burnt Ocre Prismacolor pencil and highlights with a white charcoal pencil. I also darkened the centers of the "bales" with a black charcoal pencil.
Over at Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was negative. Well, I'm sure some of you have had this horrible experience with your checkbook! I know I have LOL!

  3. Wow you UMT tile is amazing. It's so hard to do anything that isn't boxy with this tangle, but you have succeeded. And I love the colouring. Your inchie is inspired. Great idea.

  8. I love the way you used Crux. I like how your grid doesn't stick to a square shape, but spreads out in it's own form without binding edges. The dots and lashes and arrows add so much fun to the piece. Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thank you, Robin. I kind of always feel the need to push a tangle, and sometimes I really wind up with mush, but this time it worked :)

  13. You did well with this tangle. It did take a little more focus than some do. But as they say.... One stroke at a time.

  15. I love how you finished off your edges on your tile! So unique! Oh, your Inchie was painfully wonderful!! I never used to be familiar with that, until I got married. Hubby does the bills........Yeeeeeeeks!!! (it's not that bad) Anyway, that was a very clever take on the word this week! Have a great one!! :0) Share Humanity

  17. I am still chuckling over your comments. It's always so fun to visit your blog. A CZT can do anything - I believe it. Your UMT tile is great. And your take on "negative" for the inchie is very amusing!

  18. Because of the way that you coloured this I had to check that this was the same tangle that I had just been using. It looks so completely different and not like a grid based tangle at all :) Great inchie idea too. Linda x

    1. Thank you, Linda. I think it had to do, partly, with the fact that I turned my tile from point to point instead of square. It sure changes everything when you do that.

  21. Brilliant idea for your inchie Jean - my first job was working in a bank so this was strictly forbidden and a sackable offence. I think the threat has lived with me forever!!!

    1. Thanks, Lisette. I don't think I could work at a bank as I would be a nervous wreck all the time :)

    1. Thanks, Annie. Here's the deal - if I procrastinate, I just won't do it. I don't try to be first. I don't like being first. I just need to move on to other challenges that I am involved in on my other blogs too :)
