Zentangle® Some Boxes, Rain and an Inchie

The first Monday of the month is a UMT, Use My Tangle, over at the Diva Challenge. This month, the tangle is from CZT Alice Hendon, called All Boxed Up. Now, apologies to Alice, as her tangle is so beautiful and her directions are quite clear. However, it wouldn't be my work if I didn't stretch it just a tad, and so I did by using a string rather than boxes to start with. Please do look up the "real" way to do this fun tangle.
Square One from Facebook asked for Rain this week. I did some positive and negative Rain and then I added some random 'Nzeppel to it.
And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "pillow"! I've always wondered if pillows can actually talk.
Thanks for stopping by. I really enjoy all the comments you leave!

    1. Well, you know the saying, Margriet "great minds" LOL! Thanks :)

  2. Really like the curvy bits in your Diva tile! Great way to us this tangle.

  3. I wish I could include myself in the "great minds" group on this one, but, alas, no. This one brought out an attack of compulsiveness---the pathetic perfectionist, incapable of achieving perfection, reared her ugly head. I am hoping that if I keep at this long enough, one day, a creative spark like yours will be released.

    1. You are so kind, Suzanne. I'm not really sure that it is creativity, but rather the need to march to my own drum. Sometimes I wish I had a tad more of the perfectionist quality in me :)

  4. I love the 3D effect of the boxes and, as I don't think there is actually a "real" way to do any tangle, this way worked out great. I'm not sure if pillows can talk, but coat hangers certainly can since that's the only way to account for the ever growing population of them in the closet:-) Great job!

    1. I'm glad you think so, Suzanne. I always tell my students that the patterns are just suggestions! You will have to hide a tape recorder in your closet to see what those little rascals are up to!

    1. Thanks, Sue. I really prefer tangles that can wander. Not much of a fan of strict grids.

  9. Oh my goodness, your Diva Challenge tile reminds me of a dream I had one time, about an old house, full of rooms, with a vast library, lots of corridors and steps. It's a maze for the eyes! Delightful. Love the way you've done rain, too. It is such a fun pattern to shade, because you can make it lift off the page, or sink into the page. Great work!

    1. I love dreaming. It is such a safe way to go and do all kinds of things you couldn't do in real life. I love that you compared my tile to a dream!

    1. Yes, that's always fun. Hers was based on a sheet set and mine was based on the movie, but very similar!

  12. I love the randomness of your Diva Tile. Beautifully done. The 'Nzeppel fits so well with your positive and negative Rain Pattern. A fabulous design. You do so much with the Micro Acreage that the inchie represents. Lovely Tiles.

    1. Thanks, Cheryl. I guess I should have added a link to the movie so people would know what I was referring to. But, then again, what if pillows could talk LOL!

  19. Think it is fun to play and stretch a tangle. That is what I enjoy with the challenge. Yours was no where near a stretch as Helen Williams. Both are great.
