Zentangle® a Zendala, Schway/Aroz, and an Inchie

Erin Olsen, CZT, is the guest over at The Diva Challenge. Laura is the genius behind The Bright Owl, home of the weekly Zendala Dare. She left us with a nice little template to just have fun with. I started with Margaret Bremner, CZT's, tangle Croon. From there, I just played with lines and shading.
Square One on Facebook had a focus tangle of Schway (or Aroz) to which I added Paradox and Fescu.
And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt word was Wall. First thought, which I don't usually go with, was my favorite CD int the late 80's Pink Floyd The Wall!

Thanks so much for stopping by. If you leave a message, I so appreciate it.

    1. Thanks, Ilse. I do love sparkles but often forget to add them where I can. At least I remembered all the way through this time!

  2. Floyd's the go! Couldn't do it this time around 'cause I did The Wall when EIM had "song" back in 2013. Love the Zendivadal! and you're amazing for keeping Square 1 going every week.

    1. Pink Floyd got me through some pretty rough times. I try to keep my blog consistent, Zoe. I find it comforting to go to blogs that show up each week when they're supposed to and stay with a similar format each week. I tend to forget where I am if they don't LOL!

  3. Your 'pink' floyd is a great idea - is that what the album cover looked like? I gave up on new music in the 60's and I seem to be permanently stuck there - and earlier, including centuries earlier as I love classical music.

    1. No, that's not nearly as wonderful as their cover. Just what came out of my head.

  4. Your diva Challenge tile is terrific. It makes me think of Art Deco and butlers in uniform. Very stylish.

  5. Three great art pieces. The sparkles on the outer edges with all the lines made this tile very elegant.

    1. Thanks, Beverly. I really enjoyed working on this piece. I used to do the Zendala Dare each week, but when she stopped doing it, I stopped as well. It was nice to get back to working on one of her wonderful templates.

  8. love the zentangles the first one reminds me of a mandala, and the arrows are great, like a tessellation. I am also glad you went with your first thought on pink floyd. Love that record.!

    1. Yes, Freebird, we call them Zendalas because they are much like mandalas. I taught tessellations to my elementary age students back in the day and two of my first graders were actually published in a book that I entered their work into. I was quite proud!

  9. Your Zendala sparkles really make the composition come alive. I was trying to figure out how to incorporate some into mine, but apparently, someone/thing stole my imagination earlier today. I was interested to see that someone mentioned a "butler" in their response to your zendala. For some reason, my mind flashed to formal menswear when I first saw it too. I thought I was over imagining until I saw the butler comment. So, either great minds----or strange minds----think alike. You decide. ;-)

  11. Love your zendala! It's very elegant. It reminds me of the buttoned shoes ladies wore in the 1890's.

    1. Thanks, Karen. I remember using those kind of shoe buttons to make my mom a bracelet when I was very young. She wore it all the time! Either she was a good mom or she really liked it LOL!

    1. I have found that some days I do lines better than others. Having a steady hand isn't always a given. Thank you, and others, for pointing it out as I hadn't even noticed myself LOL!

    1. I have thought that myself, Cathy. I wish, that one day, I could meet all my online friends. I forgot what it is called when everybody already knows the friend of a friend, etc. But, we would need a HUGE place for us all to meet I'm sure.

  26. Jean, I love your zendala! It's so beautifully intricate and your line work is flawless. The detailing made me think of art deco and patent leather shoes with spats-I just watched a Poirot DVD last night;-) Thank you for visiting and commenting on my blog.
