Zentangle® a Pepper, Meringue and an Inchie

Last week, when we did stripes, I wondered if I would ever do them again. I was surprised to find myself grabbing this magazine photo to tangle for this week's challenge, "tangle something unexpected" from Laura at The Diva Challenge. Stacked again LOL!
I used, top to bottom, Cadent, Printemps, 'Nzepple, Hibred, Nekton, and Poke Root. Because the paper was glossy, I only added a bit of shading using a Fabrico cool gray marker. The tangling was done with a green, fine line, sharpie.

Square One focus tangle this week is Meringue by Kelley Kelly.
And, the prompt word for Every Inchi Monday is Myth. I'll bet you can guess which myth this one is based on.
Yup, it's Nessie. I love myths and think there has to be at least a smidgen of truth in them, but that's the dreamer in me :)

Thanks for stopping by, and I love reading your comments!

    1. Thank you, Ilse. I started working on a popcorn bag first but it just wasn't doing anything for me. Then, I saw this stacked in my art journal pile. I may turn this into an art journal page anyway.

  2. That stacked pepper is brilliant. (I admit I had to look twice to be sure you hadn't actually drawn on a pepper.) I love Meringue, the pattern, I mean, but it often defeats me, whereas you seem to have nailed it perfectly. As for Nessie, I fear you may have got it utterly wrong, I mean myth? Come on, it has to be true, doesn't it?

    1. I agree, Margaret. If the Internet says it could be real, well then it MUST be so LOL! From what I read on Facebook, my Meringue is not done correctly. Mistake? No mistakes in Zentangle :)

    1. Well, Zoe, you made me look up capsicum. Never heard a pepper called that, but the sites that did call it by that name were from Australia. So much to learn; love doing these inchies!

  5. Love the tangles, at first glance I thought you tangled the first one on something, not a picture, great job. I also love the meringue tangle, it looks awesome. Seems many of us had the same idea for the inchie

    1. Thank you, Freebird. I think Nessie was well represented. Guess we all have a bit of wonderment about such a creature.

  6. Love your magazine page, I didn't get the stripes fitted in last week so was thinking of incorporating them this week. I love myths also, oh to be a special dreamer, makes life so much easier.

    1. I don't think I would enjoy life half as much, Beverly, if I weren't a bit of a storyteller and dreamer. I actually look forward to sleeping because I never know what kind of adventure I might have during the night. I don't even mind nightmares. I am usually quite pleased that my mind could actually make something that terrifying up LOL!

    1. Thanks so much, Debbie. Maybe I should do that for real one of these days. I wonder what you could use that would be food safe. But, maybe you just wouldn't eat it!

  11. Brilliant! I was initially convinced that this was a tangle on a pepper, not a photo of a pepper but it works really well either way.
Lovely Meringue...and as for Nessie, well of course she exists and looks exactly like your picture. Axxx

    1. When I was very young, I used to watch a cartoon, Beany and Cecil. Cecil was a sea monster that went on adventures with the little boy, Beany. I guess I have always hoped that there was a sweet sea creature like Cecil out there, Annie :)

  15. Looks like you had a lot of fun this week, Jean. The pepper is very interesting; I don't know as I would have picked a green pen for the pepper, but it's just the right color for that drawing. Makes for a lively composition. And what's not to like about Nessie? Just a big, lovable dragon. We have to believe in the fantastic--it makes for very interesting living. Have a brilliant day! c

  17. I first thought it was a real pepper :-) It looks great zengtangled! Love Nessie so I love your inchie, I want to believe too :-)

    1. That's the greatest thing about beliefs, everybody has different ones and that's okay. (Unless beliefs lead someone to think it's okay to hurt a person or pet, then it's not okay! Gee, didn't mean to go there!) So, imagine and believe in the fun things of the world.

  19. You would think I would learn - I have just seen a photo of tangled cornflakes that I thought was real cornflakes, and now I too thought you had tangled on real peppers and built it up. What a fun challenge this is.

  26. That pepper looks so 3 dimensional, I thought you had tangled on an artificial vegetable until I read your narrative. Inspired! Speaking of Nessie, we may make it to Scotland next Spring although I'm pretty sure I won't go looking for Nessie further than your inchie. :)
