The Zendala Dare #116 with Gneiss and Meer

If you have not gone over to see what Erin did for her outstanding contribution to the Zendala Dare this week, you must go see! I did not scroll down to see hers or I might not have even tried to do one this time LOL! I do love opening up one of my books and selecting a tangle at random and making it work, or at least try to make it work, in the given template. So it was with a variant of Gneiss (inverted). I also added a kind of Meer and the rest was done with shading.
For those of you who "see" things in the tangles, I can't help seeing a plate of deviled eggs with toast points around the edges!

Thank you for stopping by. I always enjoy reading your comments.

    1. Thanks, Anja! Deviled eggs were a favorite at our house. Maybe that's why I saw them :)

    1. Isn't it funny how tangles can look like something so real when we try so hard to make them "non-representational"?

  3. lol I'm glad you said it, because I can see it:-) I like you space in the arches with just a touch of a tangle in the corner. That must be another challenge influencing you.

    1. I figured I'd better 'cause I didn't want anyone to feel badly for thinking of eggs! You are probably right about leaving a bit of space as an influence from over at the Diva LOL!

  4. Yummy, maybe you were hungry when you tangled this and didn't know it. LOL
    Looks very tasty.

    1. Thank you, Annemarie. If you get the box from Zentangle, it actually has a tiny book of tangles and a die that you roll to pick the next tangle to do. I like not thinking LOL!

    1. Well, Sandra, I find that it stops. me from using the same tangles repeatedly. Thank you :)

  7. Love it! And yes, it does make me think of deviled eggs and toast points too.

  8. Very apt, the egg and toast analogy! Nice tile, with a terrific balance of open space and line work. I specially like the arrows in your outer ring.

    1. Thanks, Sue. I'm not really sure what prompted the arrows :)

    1. Thank you very much, Christiane. I wondered if I should even mention it because it kind of makes fun of my poor tangled Zendala LOL!

  11. Jean,
I like your deviled eggs and toast. I think I'll have to make some for Thanksgiving now. Hee hee.

I think you did a great job on your Zendala. I always check out your Zendala Dare and Diva Challenge contributions. I love seeing what you and other people do.

I wanted to thank you for making my Zendala Dare a favorite in Flicker. I couldn't figure out how to comment on your Flicker page, so here I am. I can't always figure out everything on there. I'm in learning mode, being dragged and pushed into the 21st century. :D

    1. Hi Melena! My hubby always makes deviled eggs for Thanksgiving too. I think it is a bit strange though LOL! You must have something in your settings on fliker that does not allow commenting. I couldn't leave you a comment either. Everyone here is nice and we all comment, if we have the time (doesn't always happen, but usually) so you should have had several comments on flicker. Poke around there. Go to 'You" on the top right and then go to settings. Open each one and read. I'm sure you just have the comments, both adding and receiving turned off. Let me know :)

    2. Hi Jean! I think I figured it out. I don't know what I did, but I was able to leave a comment on your Flicker. I left it on the page with this particular Zendala. Thanks for your help! Everyone I've met in Zentangle Land is very nice. I'll be leaving more comments now when I can figure it out.
