Zentangle® a Tree, Steps, and an Inchie

Over at I am the Diva, guest blogger Dilip Patel, CZT, shares the reasoning behind this week's challenge - monotangle a tree. I chose Henna Drum and used Prima watercolor pencils, an orange and cream fine line Sharpie, and a charcoal pencil in white, all on a Renaissance tile.
Square One, Facebook, has a focus tangle from Helen Williams (I want to be Helen when I grow up!) called Steps. I added some Inapod.
The prompt word at Every Inchie Monday is "Tea". I could not get the song "Tea for Two" out of my head, so I went with that.

Thanks so much for stopping by. I truly enjoy reading your comments.

    1. Margaret, you really made me smile. Growing up, my best friend was a straight A student. I, sadly, was not. I have always felt myself lacking because I could never compete with her. Brilliant ideas, wow. I have heard clever, unique, and original, but never brilliant. I like it :) Thank you!

  2. Great pieces, the tree reminds me of wallpaper designs somehow, & tea for two is a regular in our house :-)

  3. Love your tree, the coloring and the shading is wonderful. You've inspired me to check out the Facebook group, love the Steps tile, and when you've got a song in your head that's precisely what you need to go with. I'd love to have tea with you sometime.

    1. Wouldn't that be lovely to have tea someday? It isn't impossible as I recently met up with some online friends that I never thought I'd get to meet. I even got to meet Zoe (Make it Crafty) here all the way from Australia!

    1. Someone did Henna Drum on a tile recently that reminded me of how much I used to love, and use, it. So, it was the first tangle that popped into my head. I think you could really get just about any tangle to work this way though. Thank you :)

  5. I love your tree! I've never used Henna Drum. Looks like that's one tangle I'm going to have to learn now. (LOL) I just finally got to the Diva Challenge (it's been a long day). I'll have to do this challenge tomorrow. And I really like what you did with Helen Williams Steps. The Inapod works perfectly with it. What fun! And the Every Inchie Monday pattern is always so much fun too. I'm going to have to go there and check it out. Your Tea for Two is so perfect. Thanks for sharing all your creativeness with us.

    1. I think Henna Drum was one of my favorites for a long time. I just kind of forgot about it for a while and was happy that it came back into my pen. Thank you for your very kind comments, and do come over to see what's going on over at Every Inchie Monday, Melena!

    1. Thanks, Freebird. Don't you just hate it though when a song just drives you crazy? Especially since I can't remember the rest of the words (I know I can look it up) and I make up silly things instead LOL!

  12. Really super tangling this week, Jean. Your Steps and Inapod is wonderful - and wouldn't we all like to be Helen when we grow up! (Although I did hear that if you get to 50 and you haven't grown up, you don't have to!! How good is that?)

  15. Jean, I really like your response to the Diva tree challenge. Henna drum is a new tangle for me and I really appreciate how you share with us the media and techniques you use. I don't do the Square One challenge usually, but I definitely want to add Steps to my Zentangle tangle repertoire.

    1. I always appreciate it when people really detail out their materials if they are using something different, so I try to remember to do the same. I think it comes from my card making blog where that is really required as we all have so many different materials that we use to create. Even if you don't have the time to participate, it is nice to see what others come up with each week over at Square One, Suzanne.
