Diva Challenge this week is hosted by Amy Brody. I was lucky enough to meet her and her adorable daughter at CZT11 training. Her challenge was to have a "spill" on our tile and tangle on. So, I grabbed my coffee cup and dripped some on my tile. My hubby makes kind of weak coffee, so it didn't do much. Ahah! We had company last week and there was some left over Sangria in the fridge. I liked this spill better.

After I tangled, using W2, Ixorus, Diva Dance, Tipple, and IX, I decided to shade with colored pencils and just a touch of regular pencil. The stain kind of disappeared with these heavier tangles. They do show up more in person rather than a scan though.
The prompt for
Every Inchie Monday was "Navy." My original list had it spelled "Navi" which was very interesting, look it up. But, I went with the current spelling and thought of the branch of the military service, and sailors. Did anyone else have one of these "sailor" blouses? I had both the blouse AND a dress!

Will be playing later... started a piece and said I wasn't going to color this week... but this one is a combo piece... so I am going to color... DeleteHello Jean! What a dynamic tile! Isn't it interesting how the "stains" influence the outcome, yet tend to fade away once everything else has been done? Your tile reminds me of a 4th of July picnic along a stone-lined creek, complete with sparkers, and maybe some archery as a diversion!

DeleteI love how you let the shape of the stain guide you. The light color of the sangria adds an interesting effect to the tile. Great tile and a lovely inchie!

DeleteYour Sangria tile is lovely. So far I haven't found anything that stains and leaves my paper workable! (I don't have tiles.) The middy blouse is a great idea - very nautical and navy inspired.

DeleteI love the spill zentangle, I just dont see how you can do such depth of work with just pencils. Awesome. Also i never had a navy shirt or dress. But I do remember seeing kids wearing them. I do love that you got the whole thing on an inchie. great job!

ReplyDeleteThanks, Zoe. I took the one with the coffee and I dropped some yellow ink on it and blew it around. I really couldn't see the coffee enough. I think it is because, like I said, my hubby makes kind of week coffee. Hope your turns out darker :)

DeleteGreat tile! I did have a sailor dress back in the sixties! I have a picture of me wearing it on a date with my husband before we were married. Nice memory!

DeleteNicely done. I share the frustration with the scanning process, that tend to flatten the subtle color gradient.
