Zentangle® a Black on White, Zinger, and an Inchie

We have out of town guests staying for a few weeks, so short and sweet easy for a bit. I do apologize for not getting to everyone to make comments. I hope to be back in full force soon.

The Diva Challenge this week was to use white on black or to tangle on a found object. I used Aquafleur, Rixty, and Poke Root.

The tangle of the week for Square One on Facebook was to use Zinger. I added some Sandswirl and a few Pearls.

And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "movie". Not too original this week. Sorry to disappoint as I know you look for something clever from me. I'll be back on my game as soon as possible.

Thanks for stopping by. I do have time to read your comments (wink, wink), and I always appreciate that you take the time to do so.

  1. Jean---great minds.... We chose two of the same tangles this week;-) . I'm not sure Rixty works real well in white on black although you achieved a degree of crispness that eluded me.

    1. Yes, great minds :) You are correct in that fussy tangles or tiny tangles don't work well on the black. Part of the reason is that the white pen in thicker, or at least the ink comes out thicker. They really haven't perfected a truly fine flowing white.

  3. Love your tiles! Great how you gave Aquafleur a 3D-look, that's quite hard on a black tile.

    1. You really have to think and work a bit harder with white on black, in my opinion, Ilse. Thank you :)

    1. Isn't it funny how we "forget" to use tangles we like? I have a book with all the tangles and I just flip and pick whatever is on the page sometimes :)

  12. Nice shape you have flow you have in your shape of tangles on the Diva Challenge tile. The Inchie is great, very neat! And the square one piece is clean and well drawn with nice contrast! Sarah.

  15. I love your Aquafleur - it looks so mysterious in black! You already know I love your Zinger and Sand Swirl. It reminds me of a Calder sculpture. Wonderful! Enjoy your guests - I know they have loved this excellent weather we have been having!

    1. I do love Aquafleur in black and in tan also. Thanks. Yes, our guests have enjoyed the weather. I wish it had been just a tad warmer so we could have used the pool too though.

    1. Sometimes, actually often, I find myself turning my tangles into a picture I get in my head. So, yes, it does look like growing things.

  19. I love the way that the rikty flows into the pokeroot - and your aquafleur is really lovely, especially considering the unique challenges of white on black. All your tiles are great and, as always, I got a big smile from your inchie. Very clever!

  23. Nice white on black! I'm not very comfortable with using gel pens on black yet, so I kept mine very simple.

    1. Gel pens can be tricky, Cat. Run them over your finger first to get them started and use a light touch.

  24. Love your white on black. You did an excellent job with the aquafleur. I have problems with it as black on white, so I wouldn't dare even try it on black. But yours turned out beautiful. Great work...all 3. Have a great time with your guests :)

    1. Thanks, Lezli. Try playing on scratch paper with a larger version. Count in groups of two with "hooks" over the edge. After a few of these, it will be easy :)
