Zentangle® in Stripes, Opus, and an Inchie

This week, Laura over at I Am the Diva, challenged us to use stripes. Strickles, Shattuck, and Rain filled my stripes.
Square One's focus tangle this week is Opus. I added a bit of rounding to this one.
And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was Rhythm. Nothing soothes me more than the rhythm of the waves. I even sleep to a CD of the oceans soothing sounds.

Thank you for stopping by and thank you all who leave a comment. I so enjoy reading them!

  5. Your Diva challenge tile instantly brought to mind a thunderstorm. Perhaps its not very imaginative on my part, but I see lightning in the Rain and thunder in the Strickle. We had a few thunderstorms this weekend, so maybe that's imprinted in my mind. The inchie is wonderful. It reminds me of Hawaii where we were fortunate to be able to live for 3 months last year (during the winter!) because my husband did a sabbatical there.

    1. We also had a thunderstorm this week and one hit right next to our house. Wow, it really made me jump. Our dog went nuts and our cat exploded for under the bed! You are so lucky to have lived in such a paradise. I have never been to Hawaii. Someday.....

    1. Thanks, Dorita. I did feel that using stripes called for symmetry. I appreciate that you noticed that :)

  8. I saw the inchie link & thought...TROPICAL... But that's not yet! And then I clicked onto your page & all became clear :-) it was quite funny as a friend had just returned from her holiday & had been saying how she loves to be lulled by the sound of the waves!

    1. Thank you, Sandra. I'm certain that many people find a comfort in the recurring sound of the waves. Even the lapping sounds of a lake can be soothing, I think.

  17. Great idea for the inchie, Jean. Only thing missing is a frosty recreational beverage! You created a lot of movement within those stripes, especially the way you zigged "Rain." Have a brilliant day! c

  20. OK, was it Diagonalley week in Arizona? I did diagonal stripes too! I love how you incorporated the ultimate stripe pattern, Strircles! It is one of my favorites, although it is sometimes so bold that you hesitate to mix it with other tangles. Here, it is perfection! Your rain is so nicely done! It has movement and a beautiful balance within your stripe. Those two really dynamic tangles contrast so nicely with the refinement of Shattuck, which is so relaxing to draw and satisfying to shade. You did it well, plus I love the little extra stripey sidebars on it! Excellent! Your Opus is so wonderful! It seems to sing! Really, it does have music in it! And who could resist that inchie? I can't believe you created a one-inch tropical island paradise!

    1. I do moderate my posts because I have an "anonymous" person that always sends comments with questionable links attached. Usually I catch comments fairly quickly and make them live, but I was teaching this morning so I hadn't yet seen your lovely comments and allowed them to go through. Thank you again :)
