Zendala Dare #114

This week's Zendala Dare, over at The Bright Owl, is number 114. I made a happy "mistake" and wound up with this.

Don't you just love "mistakes"? I do because they invite creativity. I used Betweed and Reticulated by Livia Chua. Thanks, Erin, for this lovely template.

Thank you for stopping by. I enjoy reading your comments!

  1. Yes, I like a mistake (now and then) and made one in my zendala of this week. But that one couldn't be hidden. But I think you only see it when knowing of looking for it :-)
I do like your zendala Jean, I is very powerful.

    1. Usually I just ignore mistakes, but this one wasn't that easy to work with. I had printed out the page with two patterns and promptly made another bold mistake with the second. So, I decided to just pick one and go with the "oops". I do like the way it turned out though and it is nothing like what I was going to so LOL! Thanks, Annemarie :)

  2. Beautiful zendala! Since I'm oblivious to the actual challenge, I see no mistakes or what I call "happy accidents";-) Whatever you did, I'd call it "Success!"

  3. Yep, I have to love those happy accidents because I make one or more on almost every piece of art I create. Your tile has a very dramatic feel.

    1. Thanks, Beverly. Years ago, those things would have made me crazy. Now, a mild thought chastisement and I am back to creating :)

  5. Nicely layered, and I really like the simpleness and openness!

  6. Fine zendala! I think mistakes made the drawings a little bit more honest and lively. Maybe because my zentangles are seldom perfect;-)

    1. I learned a lot about embracing "mistakes" from Suzanne McNeill. Love her attitude :)

  9. So bold! I love your flair with bold patterns. I know a lot about "mistakes"! And I am learning to let them take me to places I wouldn't choose! Whatever your "mistake" was, you turned it into beauty.

    1. Thanks, Jennifer. Actually, I can't even remember what the "mistake" was anymore. So, that's a good thing :)
