Zentangle® Gourdgeous and Showgirl

The challenge from I am the Diva is a day later this week because of the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday. I hope all my Canadian friends had a wonderful day. If you missed my post from yesterday with some info on my latest interactive local program, click here and find your weekly dose of the Facebook and Inchie prompts too.

The tangle of the week, posted today, is Gourdgeous. Perfect for the season.
I used a Renaissance tile, tangled with a brown Micron, filled with an Orange Copic Multiliner, and colored with Polychromos colored pencils.

Here is an extra. Showgirl on black with white gel pen and white charcoal.
Thank you for stopping by. I enjoy reading your comment.

  1. I don't know Dr Seuss but I like the quote and your Inchie that is based on it.
A nice and very special form has your Gourdgeous with splendid colours and little highlights, but also your white Showgirl is so well drawn and I'm fond of that use of charcoal!

    1. Ria, Dr. Seuss is considered to be one of most successful children's book authors of all time. Having had four children and being an elementary school teacher led me to be well acquainted with his delightful joy of words. Thanks for the kind words. I like working with charcoal too.

  9. A gorgeous Gourdgeous. Okay, enough of that. :-D But really, your Diva Challenge tile of tangle Gourdgeous is very pretty. I like the simplicity of the monotangle.

And your Showgirl is really nice too. I like your work on the black tiles. I have such a hard time with that one. Some day I'll go try it again and it will turn out great. Sometimes time lets it sink in.

    1. I have a notebook with black paper that I do a lot of work in. You might prefer that to the black tiles as it has a totally different feel to it.

    2. I find that too Jean, the paper is smoother in my visual arts diary and the gel pens show up better.

  10. Gorgeous Gourdgeous! The way they are connected makes them look like flower petal for a very ornamental flower.

    1. This one is a more difficult challenge for those of us who try to stay true to the spirit of Zentangle. A "real" Zentangle pattern is NOT supposed to look like anything real. And, yet this tangle looks like a gourd, is named after a gourd, and adds some pressure to have a finished product that looks like a gourd. Not the true spirit of Zentangle. However, it is a challenge and it is fun to just see what happens. I have not yet looked at anyone else's submissions. I don't like to be influenced in what I do. I'm looking forward though to seeing what everyone comes up with. I will be looking for yours too Suse :)
