Zentangle® Web, Boze, and an Inchie

The Diva Challenge is to do either a Halloween tile or something on black with white. I do enjoy working on black paper, but not so much on the softer tiles. But, I did so for the challenge.
I used Suzanne McNeill's Web and then did a mirror image. I added some Tipple and Betweed with the mirrored image. The main lines were made with a Uniball Angelic White pen and then white charcoal and white Prismacolor pencil was added.

The focus tangle on Square One, Facebook is to use Boze by Jan Steinle. As you can see, I had to do a "what if"!
Variation

And, Every Inchie Monday's prompt word is Coastline. I originally come from New Jersey and our favorite place of all was "down the shore" to Seaside Heights. This is the Jersey coastline highlighting where my favorite childhood memories were made. The top star is where I lived at the time, Hawthorne.

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments!

  3. Much as I like the Diva tile, it's the two boze pieces that keep catching my eye. Nice work.

    1. I kind of found Boze a bit constricting for my taste, but once you let it go, it was more fun. Thanks, Magrat.

    1. I try not to get too carried away and ramble too much, Jenny, but these inchies always get me thinking!

  5. I 've never seen a mirror image in Zentangleart but it is very pretty and I do like this tile very much. Also Boze is a tangle I've never seen and I'm glad to discover it on your work. Two nice tiles, especially the second is my favorite, such nice shadows!I agree with Jenny, it is nice to know the thoughts behind the work and today they are wonderful.

    1. LOL, Ria. I don't think I have either now that you say it. Maybe I should give it a name like zimage :)

    1. I think a lot of us have fond memories of the sea, Sally, if we are ocean people. I know I miss the ocean so much.

    1. I often find working on black tiresome, Annemarie. Those pens often do not want to cooperate. Fortunately, this one was in a good mood and just kept flowing!

    1. Thank you, Dragonfly. If I hadn't developed trigger finger from tangling too much a while back, I would have explored it more. We all have to be mindful of our limits at a certain point though.

    1. I use just plain black paper in a spiral notebook when I want to enjoy the properties of black, Charlotte. It seems to work so nicely with metallic markers and pens. Charcoals and pastels would probably be better on something with more tooth though.

  13. Looks like you had a great deal of geometric fun:) I like how you accomplished the mirror image tile, it came out great and that could be a tricky one ....to use a Halloween pun:)

  20. Jean, your Halloween tile turned out great! I do love tipple in white on black. The whole thing almost looks like a Bat in flight. I know what you mean about the black Zentangle tiles. I found a small black Strathmore drawing pad and also their Artist Tiles - both are the same paper I think. They take the Gelly Roll pens very nicely.

I like both of your Boze tiles, but especially the 2nd one. I've never done that tangle. I'll have to try it.

Your Inchie is so much fun. So, you're a Jersey girl, eh? :-D No wonder you like Arizona so much. I too really like reading about your research on the Inchie subject. We all get to learn something.
