Zentangle® Quandary and a Mallard

This has been a coloring week for me. Be sure to check out the tab above to see some of my Copic work. Also, take a look at the letter that I sent to CBS along with a lot of other tanglers to try to spread the love of Zentangle.

This week, the Diva challenged us to do Quandary. I use a grid, so it is as easy as Bales for me. I did curve the grid big time to make it look different. It is kind of soft and gentle, not at all like my usual work:
And, for Every Inchie Monday, the word was "game." Well, think of all the places you could go for that one. I haven't looked yet; I never peek until I post so I won't be swayed by anyone's work. I decided to go with a "game" bird, the mallard.

  1. I never peek either! I nearly went for game birds but had pheasant in mind. This is such a cute picture, beautifully done.

    1. Thank you, Lisette. It is always so much fun to see where everyone goes with just one little word. I am amazed at what a clever group the Every Inchie Monday is!

  2. Your quandary is really lovely, Jean - it's so nice to produce something that looks a little different. As for the Mallard.....how could you pair him with a word like 'game'...It would have been snakes and ladders for me. Poor old duck! Axxx

    1. So sorry, Annie. Part of the fun of the inchies is to try to find something different than everyone else. So, game bird :(

  4. I love both your pieces! The duck is gorgeous! I don't usually peek either - I find when I do, it is harder to think up an original thought.

    1. Thanks, Cathy, that's exactly why I don't peek. I don't always come up with something original anyway though. We have such a clever group :)

  5. How brilliant is your thinking on this one! Great outside-th-box inchie! Love your tangling. Haven't had a chance to go near my art storage box, but will get around to the tangling sooner or later again.

    1. Ah, Zoe, you must get back to your tangling. You know a day without tangling is like a day without, hummmmm, cookies :)

    1. Thanks, Kelly. Maybe that's why we come up with so many different variations. I must say the words themselves are great ones in that regard.

    1. Thank you, Annemarie. Wouldn't it be fun to see the look on their faces at CBS when all those letters and tangles show up?

    1. Thank you, Lonetta, for the nice words. I wasn't really too sure about it at first. My husband loves ducks and we have all kinds of wooden ones all over our house :)

  10. Very cool about CBS and Zentangle! A grid is a good idea!! Maybe I will try that another time. I like the way you bent them! I particularly like the Irises you did :)

    1. Thanks, Diane. And, I appreciate that you took the time to look at other tabs on the top. I wish I knew how to format blogspot so I could make the other pages work just like the first page, but I guess I need a website to do that.

    1. It really is fun to see what people come up with. I love doing these inchies. I didn't think I would like playing in such a small space, but it really is fun to do. Thank you for your comment :)
