Zentangle®, A Challenge, The W Word, and an Inchie

So, did you ever have one of those days? I did the Dive Challenge "wrong" (Did I say the W word? We all know there are no mistakes in Zentangle!!!) and was not pleased with myself as I was using one of my Renaissance tiles and I don't have a lot of those. So, I started over. Then, I spilled a whole cup of coffee across my desk. Fortunately, my Zentangle tile was in the scanner but I ruined several cards that I was in the process of making. Sigh. Only paper, yes?

So, the challenge this week was to do a duotangle using just our initials. My initials are J and C, and I wanted to do a tangle that would slide into another tangle. I chose Jonqal by Zentangle and Cockles 'n Mussels by Margaret Bremner ( a variation of 'nZepple) My finished tile:

I hate to waste a tile, and I have learned not to give up on a "mistake" but to embrace it and move on. So, I went back to the first one and finished it adding some of my fun new gel pens.
And, finally, my Inchie for Every Inchie Monday was the word "orange". I seldom go for the obvious but I really wanted to play with my new quilling tools. I know it doesn't look too much like an orange (the paper is orange but shows up red, and I am having a bit of a glue issue), but you do have an imagination don't you?

Zentangle® Truffle, and Inchie, a Link to Quilling

This week, Caroline Broady is the guest challenger for the Diva Challenge. I met Caroline and her mom at my CZT training last year in June. It's fun to see someone start out so young with this amazing thing called Zentangle. I can only imagine what she will be doing when she is an adult. Caroline came up with a new tangle called Truffle. She used it beautifully. However, she did say we should feel free to do a tangleation and to have fun, so I did both :)

For this week's Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "Odd"! Well, I started thinking of the odds of winning the lottery and I actually looked it up. Sigh, I guess I will never win!

And, finally, I was asked to share some of my newest art interest, quilling. I have really just started and don't have much exciting to share, but you can see what I am up to by visiting my Copics and Paper Fun tab above, or click HERE to go directly to that page.

Zentangle® a Spill and an Inchie

The Diva Challenge this week is hosted by Amy Brody. I was lucky enough to meet her and her adorable daughter at CZT11 training. Her challenge was to have a "spill" on our tile and tangle on. So, I grabbed my coffee cup and dripped some on my tile. My hubby makes kind of weak coffee, so it didn't do much. Ahah! We had company last week and there was some left over Sangria in the fridge. I liked this spill better.
Coffee----Sangria
After I tangled, using W2, Ixorus, Diva Dance, Tipple, and IX, I decided to shade with colored pencils and just a touch of regular pencil. The stain kind of disappeared with these heavier tangles. They do show up more in person rather than a scan though.
The prompt for Every Inchie Monday was "Navy." My original list had it spelled "Navi" which was very interesting, look it up. But, I went with the current spelling and thought of the branch of the military service, and sailors. Did anyone else have one of these "sailor" blouses? I had both the blouse AND a dress!

Zentangle® a UMT and an Inchie

Today, Laura on the Diva Challenge presented us with a UMT (Use my tangle) called Crux by Henrike Bratz. My first thought was, "I can't do that!", but then I remembered that I am a CZT (Certified Zentangle Teacher), so I can do anything HAHA! All I have to do is pretend I am teaching and I CAN do anything. So, here it is on a Renaissance tile with shading done in Burnt Ocre Prismacolor pencil and highlights with a white charcoal pencil. I also darkened the centers of the "bales" with a black charcoal pencil.
Over at Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was negative. Well, I'm sure some of you have had this horrible experience with your checkbook! I know I have LOL!
