Zendala with Tortuca and Arukas

Head on over to get the template used for this Zendala from Erin at The Bright Owl. Do take a look at the finished works of the other very talented tanglers while you're there.
I used Arukas and Tortuca, keeping this quite simple. Thank you for dropping by. I really enjoy reading your comments!

  1. Wow, quite spectacular. Going over to get the template now, I'll have to ponder this one.

    1. Thanks, Carmela. Sometimes certain tangles just seem to want to go in certain places. I feel no power over them LOL!

  3. So beautiful, I like the simple patterns and the shadow. It´s also interesting to read the names of the patterns, so that I can learn something =) Greetings from Germany

    1. Thank you, Marchendiva. I was an art teacher for over 20 years, so I just do that naturally :) Also, now that I am a CZT, I feel like it is part of my current "job" to help people learn more about this wonderful art form.

    1. Thank you, Nevena. I'm not fond of too much clutter, so I usually look for ways to simplify things. I don't often actually use strings either because I find them constraining. On Zendalas, I like using the divisions as part of the flow, if I can. I do print them out, so I can't really ignore them though.

  7. I like this Jean and I like the fact that we both did a huge Printemps on the same spot :-) Glad I didn't look at other entries because then I should have chosen an other tangle.

    1. I just went to look at yours, Annemarie. I like yours so much more as it is really flowing. I know what you mean about looking at others first. I never do, or I wouldn't even post after I see such lovely work out there lOL!

  8. you asked what I do. Well, I first prrint the template, then copy it (with carbon paper) on paper I want it on. Then the lines are there but no so very thick and I can erase them if I want. In the template of this week I only added lines.

    1. I was thinking that you, and some others, are not actually printing out the template and using in in its completed form. Thanks for sharing your process, Annemarie. If I remember right, I think I used to use a light box way back when the Zendala Dare was weekly before she took her extended break. My memory isn't what it used to be LOL!
