I am the Diva, is traveling through my beautiful country right now. Since both Canada and the USA celebrate our countries this time of the year, her challenge is to use our countries colors. I look forward to seeing entries from all over this world for this one. I usedKoi Coloring Brush Pens for the red and blue and a Sharpie acrylic paint pen for the white (pink LOL!). Simple tangles of Hollibaugh and a variation of Nipa using stars instead of circles. I hope everyone enjoys feeling a bit of pride as they complete this week's challenge.

As always, great tiles! Thanks for sharing them. The Diva Challenge tile is really super, I love your interpretation of it. The Square One is also wonderful, using the Merryweather pattern as a centerpiece. I'm not familiar with the movie you named, but I do like the computer-based inchie.

ReplyDeleteWell, actually YT, I was struggling to try to make this have any tangles at all! I didn't plan on Hollibaugh, just named it after it was done. Then I thought I'd better add something else even vaguely close to a tangle, and stared Nipa was born :)
DeleteDon't know that movie which is odd because I know a lot about old movies (maybe it's not quite old enough for me - lol). I can imagine what it was about though because there are a number of movies with the computer takes over the world theme. Good choice of ideas for your inchie
ReplyDeleteYes, Kia, that movie is kind of between new and old I supposes. Especially for those of us who love watching the really old movies. Another one that was in that same time period, I think, was Andromeda Strain. I have watched that one tons of times and still get worried near the end!
DeleteI really like your red white and blue Diva Challenge Jean. And I agree about your using Nipa with stars. What a great idea! And your Brrrst tile is wonderful. I love how you put Zander in there around them. But your Inchie got me again. I had to laugh. In the 1970's computers seemed so far away and kinda scarey. I didn't see that movie, but it sure turned into a great Inchie. Again you have done some great work.

DeleteI ended up with some pinkish in my Diva challenge composition, too. ;) However, you caught the spirit of the holiday in your tile. Even had I just seen it without knowing it had any connection to the Fourth of July, I would have felt the patriotic theme. Success.
ReplyDeleteI know how color works, Suzanne, and I should have done the stars first and then gone around them with the color. Or, used some masking fluid to do the stars first. However, I had no idea where I was going to go with this when I started. That's just my style LOL!
