Zentangle® Remix, Merryweather, and an Inchie

This was an interesting idea from I am the Diva. Laura had us digging through our old tiles to do a "Remix" and see what we came up with. I found this old tile, from 2013, of a sad Purk. I tried to revitalize it with Arukas, Molygon, Tipple, and Munchin. The only change I made to Purk was to push the original shading around a bit more.
Original 2013 tile

The focus tangle from Square One, Facebook, is Merryweather from CZT Sandy Hunter. I kept it simple and true in the center and then let myself wander as I reached the edges.

Finally, Every Inchie Monday's prompt word is Physics. Now, maybe I've really gone off the deep end on this one, but when I was a child my mom had to take physics. It is an old word for laxative LOL!

If you have a moment, I would most appreciate it if a few of you would go to this link and vote for my Copic colored coloring book page. Dover has a contest and voting goes until the 30th. I just entered it yesterday, so I probably have few votes, if any. Thank you.

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments!

    1. Yes, Kia. I miss the truly zany inchies that Zoe used to come up with. Thanks for the vote. The prize can be a coloring book or more and the big winner gets their page put in a catalogue. I won first prize a couple of years ago but I never did see my image in a catalogue. Anyway, it's been a long time and I just thought I would give it a try.

  3. Jean, I voted for your coloring page. It's a beautifully done page, the only one that even came close to yours was one of the Butterfly Fairies. Great job...I color quite a lot, but have a tendency, even at my age, to go out of the lines, sigh. Loved your tiles, but man, your Inchie cracked me up!! Great job, lol...gave me ideas for my own inchie. My grandparents used to talk about taking "spring psychics," lol, so you brought me some good memories, too!! Love my grandparents...may they rest in peace!!

    1. Thank you, Joyce. You should try watercolor. Going out of the lines is part of the process and makes the end result even prettier! Always nice to reminisce about loved ones.

  4. I love your Remix Jean. Sure made that tile into something much more interesting. I love the Molygon along the one side. Your Merryweather is beautiful. You always inspire me to do a tangle I haven't used before. :D Your inchie has given us all a good laugh, which we all need more of. And your coloring book page of the flowers in a vase is very beautiful. I will for sure go vote for yours right now.

    1. Thanks, Melissa. I would imagine that most of us have tiles that we abandoned mid composition for one reason or another.

  7. Your old Purk tile looks a lot like my first Purk attempts. You really perked up your Purk tile. (Ouch). I haven't been doing the Square One challenges, but your Merryweather is inspiring, especially if I can find a few more hours each day. I voted for your lovely copic flowers. I admit I did out of loyalty, but having looked through at least some of the other entries, I have to say, your lovely flowers are quite sophisticated.

  10. Great job!! I have always liked Purk. Every time I start Arukas, I mess it up really bad.

    1. Thanks, Lynn. Don't give up on Arukas. Try doing just two spokes from a corner and it will suddenly make sense.

  20. I really like your remix on your Purk tile. It's one of those tangles that I always mess up, so I don't use it. But I love the way you added to it and made a wonderful composition. I've got to say, I didn't have a clue what you were talking about on your inchie until you offered your explanation for it. Then I laughed myself silly. Oh, and I actually did get to the contest and vote for you on Monday when I first looked at the challenge for this week. You do lovely Copic work. I have the Spectrum Noir markers and I need to start to learn them. I love the way the look. Good luck in the contest!

    1. Thank you, Lizlie. Do go to the Spectrum Noir site. They offer a free course on their marker use and, if you finish it, you get to be Spectrum Noir certified. If you look at my side bar, you'll see that I did that after I became Copic certified. The Copics are much easier to use, but the Spectrum Noirs are certainly a lot less money and will work.
