Zentangle® Tripoli, Crezendo, Marguerite, and an Inchie

The challenge from Laura at I am the Diva is to do a monotangle of Tripoli. I did mine on a Renaissance tile and used some Stabilo CarbOthello pastel pencils.

The focus tangle for Square One, Facebook is Crezendo by Pam Hurtz Miller, CZT. I added Marguerite by Sharon Paz.
And the prompt word for Every Inchie Monday is "Sky". Picture yourself in a boat on a river
With tangerine trees and marmalade skies.
Comes from the song.... First one that knows the answer is the first one!

Thanks for stopping by. I truly enjoy reading your comments!

  1. Week I know Tripoli but not this one! I lived in the one in Libya for 7 years lol. Nice tiles & I love the crazy marmalade sky but not a scoobie where the lyrics are from! I'll see if I can get pink or purple skies with an apple orchard whilst I'm in Maine....

    1. I love that..."not a scoobie" that's not an Americanism. A friend lives in Maine and sends me beautiful photos. Enjoy!

  2. Fabulous interpretation of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Sir Elton, natch. I like your Zentangles--the colors of the pastels are sooooo soooothing and the SQ1 all flows soooo nicely. Cheryl

    1. Of course you would know the answer, Cheryl LOL! Wish I could think like that man did (but without the drugs!).

  3. I love your Tripoli Monotangle. Works very well on the Rannaisance Tile with those colors. Your Square One tile has lots of movement. I really like those tangles but don't know either of them..... yet! :-D And your Inchie tile is wonderful. John Lennon's Lucy In the Sky with Diamonds done by The Beatles!! Oh yeah! I remember those times. LOL.

I did my Diva Challenge on a black tile. But I still have to take a picture of it and get it uploaded. So I'm off to do that next.

    1. It's nice to break away from the white tiles now and then. They accept pastels, colored pencils, and gel pens nicely. I'm looking forward to seeing yours on the black tile, Melena.

    2. I think I'll try colored pencils next time. I find the gel pens to be a real challenge. After I took the photo I saw smudges I could barely see with my eyes. Aaargh. So, I think I fixed that with Black Metallic and Silver Metallic Gelly Rolls. Ha ha ha ha ha! I'll get it done. :-D It's up now........finally. Never have used pastels though. I might have to try them.

    3. Colored pencils are really fun to work with. A lot less messy than pastels or gel pens. I am always amazed at what shows up in the photos. Kind of like wrinkles LOL!

    1. Funny, I usually avoid anything this geometric as I prefer more free flowing tangles, Freebird. I'm kind of a "don't box me in" person. But, I did enjoy coloring it after it was done :)

  7. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds isn't Sir Elton. It is by the Beatles!! LOVE me some Beatles...old hippie here, lol.

Jean, that is one beautiful tile, and I truly love it.

    1. Yes, I would imagine that there are a lot of us in that age bracket who have gotten involved in Zentangle, Joyce. Many of us longed for a sense of order, which there was not during the cold war, or now for that matter!

  8. Jean, I apologize: Those are TWO beautiful tiles, lol. I haven't done either of those challenges yet this week, but I'm looking forward to both of them. The Square One is a new tangle for me, and I love the way you've drawn it.

  9. You have drawn a beautiful Tripoli with such nice colours, love that.
I don't know the tangles you have used on that second tile, but I really like them and I gonna learn them too. The composition is important and it is made very good, I like "the connection" between the tangles.
I always like your inchies. I 've learned that word, thanks to you!

    1. Well, yay for us Annemarie! Some tangles just seem to be like that. I have read the trick many times about keeping the openings consistent, but this is the first time it actually came out the way it is supposed to.

  16. Wow! It's a while since I popped by and I'm super impressed by your lovely tangles of this week, Jean. Love the first two and absolutely no problem at all in placing the lyrics of John Lennon...know all the words to that particular song...in fact, you've started me off. I'll be singing it all night! Axxx

    1. Somehow, even though I was in college during those years, I missed the whole thing! Where I grew up, education was everything and we were quite unaware of the "hippie" culture. Sometimes I feel like I may have missed something. (I did embrace the "beatnik" style and dressed in black and read poetry LOL!)
