Zentangle® Marasu, Molygon, Yew-Dee, Shattuck, and Jetties

Laura, at I am the Diva, has challenged us to do a "duotangle" (a term of the Diva's to mean only two tangles together) of Marasu vs Molygon. I grabbed a white tile and added some Distress Inks and then splattered with water drops.  I added some black and white charcoal for contrasts.

The focus tangle on Square One, Facebook, is Yew Dee
And, in my Zentangle journal, I did some Shattuck and Jetties variations.
Thanks for stopping by, I do enjoy reading your comments!

    1. Kind of dreary weather here, Deanne, so I was in the mood for splashing some colors!

  6. Hi Jean, Very nice work on your tangles; so crisp and cleanly done. I like the accents on your duo-tangle tile. I see there are some colors but I can't tell what colors because I'm mostly color blind. Colors are starting to just be blobs of light or dark to me. But I like what you did with them.

  7. Love the vibrant colours of the Diva tile. And I'm wishing I'd bought the Zentangle journal and primer, but, oh dear, how expensive they seem. And yet...

    1. Yes, I would agree, very expensive. So, that's why I decided I should start using it before my kids just toss in in the Goodwill box :)

  10. Your Marasu/Molygon Duotangle is wonderful. Love the colors. I keep saying I'm going to try coloring the tile first like that but haven't gotten there yet. I do love how that technique comes out. I love the way you made Yew-Dee. It looks so different to me and I had to go look at the step-outs to see what you did different (you always do something different and I love it). I guess I haven't used this tangle that much but I do like it. You made it so light and airy. And then there's Shattuck and Jetties in your Journal - 2 of my favorites. Great job on them all.

    1. That's why I never get anything done, Melena. I see a technique and I just have to try it. Then I get lost in what I'm doing and fall behind in everything else! And, I do try to do something different when I can. As I teacher, I find that it is good to encourage students to do their own thing. Sometime people get too stressed out about doing things "right", don't you think?

    1. Thanks, Heike. I don't use Shattuck often. Don't really know why; it's a nice tangle.

  14. Beautiful art, Jean! Your use of color on the diva tile really complements those tangles. You've created such lovely movement with your use of molygon. Your square one tile and sketchbook page is wonderful as well.
