Zentangle® Amphora, Por Fin, Bales, and Striping

This is a "use my tangle" week over at I am the Diva. The selected tangle is Amphora by Lily Moon. This is on a Renaissance tile with a sepia Micron, white colored pencil, and a rust colored pastel pencil.
The focus tangle for Square One on Facebook is Por Fin by Cathy Staeven, CZT. I added Squid.
And, in my journal, I explored Bales and Striping.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I truly enjoy reading your comments!

    1. Thank you, Lorna. I love to use pastels on the softer Renaissance tiles. They go on so smoothly and blend well.

    1. Thanks, Deanne. This is a "subdued" week for me using color though. Usually at least one of my tiles hurts the eyes, LOL!

    1. Too bad that I don't think about what I am going to add to a tangle before I start, Ria. If I had, I would have left room in the Por Fin for the Squid to wander through instead of just under.

    1. I love "drippies" (that should be an official Zentangle term, don't you think?) on tiles, Betsy. Thanks :)

  6. Oh hey, I really like your Amphora Jean. The red and white shading make it pop pop pop and the dangles make it dance. Nifty.

    1. Dangles seem to make any tile look a bit more whimsical, I think, Dudz. Thanks for your nice comment!

    1. I love Striping, Christine, I don't know why I never think to use it. Probably because it uses up so much ink!

    1. It seemed to end too abruptly, Kate, that's when I thought of adding some dangles.

  11. That's a very sweet Amphora Jean. I love your shading and highlights.......oh, and dangles too. Those worked out wonderfully. I really like your Por Fin with Squid. It would have been nice to have Squid go through it, but alas. Hind sight is great, isn't it? :-D And your journal just keeps going. That's great! Bales is definitely a go-to. I know I don't use Striping much either for just the reason that it uses so much ink. I'll have to get around that though because it can really add a lot of depth.

It was finally very warm here today on the Northern California coastal valleys. So nice to have the sun!

    1. I always look forward to your comments, Melena. I wish I could work on the same tangles a second time, but unless I'm trying to create some wild variations I become bored. So, no Squid wandering this week, LOL! I'm glad it is warming up for you. Here too in sunny AZ. I love summer, so I'm happy to see winter going away!

  14. As always... very lovely art! I adore how you took an element of amphora (diamonds) and let them escape and expand off of the main tangle. Unique and clever! Your Square One focus tile and sketchbook pages are fabulous also!

    1. I do love to let pieces break off of tangles. Sometimes I feel that certain tangles give me a confined feeling and I either do that or I might get good old tipple to splash off of something.
