Zentangle® Some Mac 'n Cheese
This week over at I am the Diva, the challenge is to use our favorite tangles. Our "go to" tangles. Our "mac "n cheese"! Fun and no pressure at all. I selected Mooka, Bunzo, Verve, and Tipple. All my favorites and easy for me to do.
The focus tangle from Square One on Facebook is Nuwave by Beth Snoderly. Again, I played with a variation of Footlights.
And, this week I really wanted to try making some bubbles with Copic markers. I used Sandy Steen Bartholomew’s Buttercup, Carole Ohl's Footlights, and then added my bubbles for fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I always enjoy reading your comments!
I love all three tiles. The coloured shading of your bubbles is amazing.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lianne. Bubbles in Copics aren't the easiest to do, and I think I can improve upon them with more practice.
DeleteWondeerful tiles :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Gudrun!
DeleteLove all your tiles but the third is a clear favourite. Those bubbles are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your kind comment, Heike. I must say that experimenting with my Copics is always fun for me.
DeleteBeautiful tiles.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carmela :)
DeleteGreat tiles and wow!! Great Bubbles!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Kate!
Deletelovely work Jean, beautiful drawn favorite tangles, nice composition for the Square one and absolutely fabulous Bubbles (that tile is my favorite)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ria. I have a class with the same student later today. We'll see what we come up with so we can play with Copics and tangles together to create ZIA's (his interest).
DeleteAll beautiful and what fun was the Diva challenge this week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annemarie. It certainly was less stressful :)
DeleteGorgous work Jean! Your Footlites piece is delightful-those bubbles!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comment, Michele!
DeleteWell Jean, your tile is just beautifully refreshing. There's so much fun there. Bunzo and Mooka are two of my faves too.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dudz. I love that Mooka flows so gently, and Bunzo is such a contrast with its bold stripes. Great to turn to for different moods.
DeleteJean, as always, your work is very artful, artsy, and beautiful. These tiles are works of art to be sure. Simple and carefree but great art.
ReplyDeleteI like that, Duane. Simple and carefree. Such a beautiful way to describe happy art!
DeleteNice work! Like your playing with Footlite!
ReplyDeleteFootlights just sweetly fills in areas, Anita. I like that one a lot.
DeleteJean, your Diva Challenge tile is wonderful. I love the simplicity of it. But then, your other 2 tiles are pretty great too. I have never really used Footlights and I like how different it can look with different techniques and different tangles with it.
ReplyDeleteI am out of town (since Sunday) and finally got my computer up Lots to do. But now that I know what the Challenge is, I may be able to get it up tomorrow. I've also been busy crocheting. Hee hee hee. So many fun things to do. Now to catch up with what everyone else has done with this Diva Challenge.
It's so daunting to return from a trip and find so much to catch up on, Melena. I hope your trip was fun and relaxing. Sometimes we just have to give ourselves permission to let go. You're right though, this challenge should only take a few minutes and be a comfort.
DeleteI enjoyed your Tangles and loved how you shaded them :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Trudi!
DeleteNice work. I am only beginning to look but am expecting to see a lot of Mooka. Your Diva Challenge tile is a lesson in simplicity.
ReplyDeleteIt really has been interesting to see what people turn to as a comfort tangle. It's also fun to try to guess before looking to see if you think you know what they will use. I suspected that I would see Shattuck on your tile as I remember you have said before that it was a favorite of yours!
DeleteTerrific tiles Jean! I can feel how calming your Diva tile was to draw. And the bubble colour is Amazing! So iridescent! But I love the Nuwave one....it looks almost like an optical illusion somehow. Can't explain it. Thank you! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Deanne. I had to go back and look at Nuwave, and I can actually see what you are thinking. It does remind me of those paintings from the late 50's and early 60's called op art. I'll take that as a compliment :)
DeleteAll of your tiles are wonderful, but I really love your bubbles!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Dragonfly. I'll bet I could do the bubbles better if I used colored pencils or pastels instead of the Copics. I'll try that soon.
DeleteWonderful, especially those bubbles!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jennifer!
DeleteWonderful tiles with great contrast and beautiful colors! Love them all!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Anja!
