Zentangle® a Diptych, Dreamdex, Spinz, and Teaching

Laura, over at I am the Diva, challenged us to do a Diptych. Since I do not have the app, I did some of my own research to see some examples. I adapted an arch, cut with a Die-namics die, to make a split tangle that I applied to a card base.
The center, cut is flat and the edges are raised with foam tape and centered in the stitched border.

Square One, on Facebook, has a focus tangle of Dreamdex by CZT, Debbie New.
I added my newest tangle, Spinz, to the lovely tangle that Debbie created.

I always enjoy seeing photos from my Online friends. I seldom post them, but I had such a great time teaching a fun group of "real life" friends some Zentangle, that I decided to share a photo of me actually teaching and some of the completed tiles. As you can see, one of the ladies is really interested in ZIA, Zentangle Inspired Art!

    1. Thank you, Michele. As soon as I saw some of the ideas on Google, I knew that I wanted to do an arch. And, then I remembered that I had a die that would cut out a perfect one for me.

    1. Thanks, Deanne. I was thinking how much I like to see photos of our members so I can put a face to the person I have created in my mind. Of course, they never match, LOL! I wonder if I do?

    1. Miss L, I had seen the tangle before but had not gotten around to trying it. I should have. Dreamdex is really pretty and easy to do.

    1. I love that frame too, Kate. And, I started teaching when I was about four. My dolls sat in rows facing my chalkboard and were also very good students. My dog, however, often had to be reminded to pay attention :)

  7. I love the simplicity of your Diptych, Jean, and your minimal use of 3 basic tangles. You did that mirroring effect very well. I had to look up Diptych too and found lots of interesting pictures. I ended up doing something different that i haven't seen anyone else do for this Challenge yet. It's so much fun to try new things. I like your Dreamdex too, and how you have some flying off he grid like that. Makes it look so diaphanous. I haven't had a chance to really use it yet, but now that I've seen yours I'll be trying it out soon. And there you are - Jean the Teacher. :-) And you've got "platinum" hair too! LOL I like that photo. Yes, it is nice to see pictures of our online Zentangle friends. I'll try to get a more recent picture of me up somewhere. Those tiles done by your students are really nice. They have a good teacher. ;-) Have great week!

    1. I had that open space on the sides and was pondering which tangle to add or if I should continue with one of them. Then, I decided to just leave some breathing room. I do like the more minimal look too sometimes, Melena. Platinum, huh? I like that. People pay a lot of money to get platinum hair, LOL!
