Zentangle® Scallamps, Xircus, Andromeda, Cloudfall, and Drogon

Amazingly it is May already, so it's time for a UMT (use my tangle) over at I am the Diva. This month, the tangle comes from Sarah Uram, CZT, and is called Scallamps. I love this tangle! Do check it out and give it a try.
I used a 3Z tile, a red Copic multiliner, and red colored pencil.

Square One's focus tangle is by Lily Moon. Sad events going on for her, so we all penciled in our love for Lily and then used a heart as a string using some of her tangles.  Andromeda, Cloudfall, and Drogon are the ones I selected.
And for another splash of color:
Overlapping Xircus (step-outs from your local CZT) on a recycled coffee box (cut out with a textured edge die cut) using Copic markers, white pencil, and edged with Tim Holtz Picker Fence ink.

Thank you for stopping by. I always enjoy reading your comments!

    1. Thank you, Sarah. I really must try to remember to use those 3Z tiles. They make you approach tangles in a different way.

    1. I haven't done Xircus in a long time, Deanne, it was fun to do on some recycled paper too.

    1. Thanks, Jeanette. I think the dark pencil opposite the white really made the difference.

  5. Ah, our scallamps reminds me a bit of quib caught in a ribbon. I love it. And your Xircus... I am glad you mentioned its name, great adaptation! Or shall I say under the magnifying glass version?

    1. I thought it was kind of Quib like myself, Susie. I've never done this version of Xircus before and I do think it was lots of fun.

    1. I actually have a pair of summer sandals that have a similar pattern and color, Ilse. Didn't notice that until I was finished, LOL!

  7. I don't know where to start, Jean. Obviously I'm pretty impressed with all of them but the Scallamps one stood out - until I saw that last one, with the pastel colours and the overlapping and, and and...

  8. Very nice work Jean and a wonderful gift for Lily, I hope she will see this lovely heart.
I've never seen xircus in that way but it is drawn absolutely fabulous and I love the colors.

    1. As a CZT, Ria, you have a "special" place to look and see Xircus done in this manner, by Marie or Rick no less :) Give it a try.

    2. Dear Jean, where can I find that special place?

  10. Jean, your Diva Challenge Scallamp tile is wonderful. I love that you used all red. Very striking. Your heart tile for Lily Moon is so nice. A very thoughtful way to let her know you care. And your Xircus is so much fun! I actually found it online and was able to get the step-outs. I don't know if the step-outs follow the original or not, but I have the idea. I really like how you did yours, especially the colors. I've never seen it anywhere else. Greetings from a hot Northern California coast - you would love it here right now. LOL (it will cool off in a few days though, thank goodness)

    1. I did look online to see if there was a link I could leave for the zen-muggles out there but couldn't find any, so good for you. The one I did is a variation. Yup, love hot weather! We're getting there. It is supposed to be 100 degrees here tomorrow!

  11. Hey Jean, love your work as always, it looks so nice. You say it is red...my eyes see only orange(but then, I'm color blind). Your third tile reminds me of the Los Angeles freeway system, I will have to try that one out.

    2. Unfortunately I have been there too. I was born in San Diego and raised in and around Los Angeles until I left to join the US Navy (where I spent 30 years), you couldn't get me to go back. Oregon is the life for me.

    3. Duane, I grew up in New Jersey, and I would never go back either. I just don't like the dreary and cold winters at all. Loving it here in central Arizona!

  15. Wonderful tiles all of them. Your scallamps is like a wonderful dressmaker judy.

    1. Well, Lorna, you stumped me on the term dressmaker judy. I have never heard that but, with the shape of the tangle, I'm guessing it is a term for a dressmaker form. Isn't it fun to learn new terms that different areas use like this? We watch a lot of British and Australian mystery series on TV and are always having to look up words to see what they are talking about, LOL! Thanks for leaving me a sweet comment, Lorna!

    1. It's not a "new" tangle, Annie. It's just a tangle that does not have the step-outs published. You can only get the official step-outs from a CZT. However, it's not difficult to deconstruct on your own if you look carefully.
