Zentangle® Strutz, Aura, and a Splash of Color

The non-dominate hand challenge showed up today at I am the Diva. We are to aura a tangle. She encouraged us to think that our tile has "character"! Mine certainly does! I did everything, including the shading and chop with my left hand.

I use kind of a half Ing and Rain to aura using a Renaissance tile.

The focus tangle on Square One, Facebook is Strutz by Sarah Fowler. Most of the shared tangles look like melting tinker toys. They really look great that way and I encourage you to take a look at this fun tangle.

And, for the splash of color, I thought it would be fun to play with a spiral and some 'Nzeppel. I used Copics to color.

Zentangle® Ing, Viaduct, and an Inchie

I am the Diva, Challenge # 281, is to use Ing. It's one I don't use much, but it was fun to pull it back out. Last week I had a group of lovely ladies who had a birthday party and I was the entertainment. I showed them how to use watercolor pencils. We had so much fun that I felt like doing more. So, I used a purple Micron pen and then added some Prima Watercolor pencils. I filled the Ing with 'Nzepple.

The focus tangle for Square One, Facebook is Viaduct by Wayne Harlow. I added Intersection by Suzanne McNeill and some Florz.

And, Every Inchie Monday's prompt word is Dolphin. Did you know that you can actually adopt a dolphin? Several groups, just look it up. After drawing one, I attempted to make one with my new set of Perler Mini Beads. I certainly have a new appreciation to our beading friend, Freebird! Not even close LOL!

Zentangle® All Dolled Up, Ing, and an Inchie

Emily Classon, CZT, is the guest host over at I Am The Diva for challenge #196. The prompt is "all dolled up". This is indeed a fun one for me. I love doing tangles on clothing and I have quite a collection of dolls and doll stamps and such. I have no idea why then that this odd character jumped out of my pen today, but she did.  I used a manilla tag to work on.
Don't you just love her dangle earrings? I used Paradox, Nekton, Tipple, Crescent Moon, Meer, and Hibred.

For Square One, the tangle was Ing. I, of course, had to mess and soften one of the angles. I did some "real" ones on the edges just in case you might think I really don't know how to do these tangles. Then I added some Tipple and rounding for some drama.

And, finally, for Every Inchie Monday, the word was Xenon.  As I researched the word, I settled on the fact that xenon is used in fancy headlights. Headlights I understand, and I got to do a bit of quilling too.
White circles with a thin blue then over both with black and glued to a black 1" paper with white gel pen accents.

Zentangle® Creatively and an Inchie

I would request that you get your imagination in gear and try to see where I was going with this week's challenges. My faithful followers know I just love to step outside the box just to see what a tangle can do. This week, Challenge 184, the Diva asked us to use the new official tangle Ing. Well, I was show a tangler friend of mine how to do it. She is not a friend of grids or geometric tangles, so I had to show her how to turn this into an organic tangle. I added a bit of Fescu, Tipple, and half a Verve. I know many of you will see things in this one.

I finally decided to post the first one I did where I took Ing down the center and then just kind of let it keep exploding. I kind of got a bit lost along the way :) I added a bit of 'Nzeppel to the triangles of the wandering pieces.

 The Facebook group, Square One, Purely Zentangle®,  had Quib as this week's tangle. I added Courant, Mysteria and Verve

And, again with a request for you to use your imagination, the prompt for this week's Every Inchie Monday was RED. We buy big boxes of Tootsie Roll Pops, but I only eat the red (well, sometimes the brown, but that would ruin my entry!) I am still playing with quilling and my quilling friends should click on the top and go to my Copics and Paper Fun page and see the Christmas tree I quilled. No great at it yet, but having fun learning something new.
