Zentangle® a Spill, A-Dalpha, Trangle, and an Inchie

The Challenge, #282, over at I am the Diva, is to "Spill It". I tried coffee, but I must brew it very week as you could hardly see it. So I grabbed a bottle of Distress Ink in Antique Linen and off I went. I used the tangles Jesterz by Julia Ross, Laced by Mary Elizabeth Martin, CZT, and Jelly Roll by Suzanne McNeill, CZT.

Square One, Facebook, has a focus tangle of A-Dalpha by Bunny Wright, CZT. I added the new tangle Trangle by Jody Genouvese, CZT.

And the prompt for Every Inchie Monday is Petunia. My apologies to Petunia Pig and all I can say about that is: Th-Th-Th-That's all Folks!

Zentangle® Ing, Viaduct, and an Inchie

I am the Diva, Challenge # 281, is to use Ing. It's one I don't use much, but it was fun to pull it back out. Last week I had a group of lovely ladies who had a birthday party and I was the entertainment. I showed them how to use watercolor pencils. We had so much fun that I felt like doing more. So, I used a purple Micron pen and then added some Prima Watercolor pencils. I filled the Ing with 'Nzepple.

The focus tangle for Square One, Facebook is Viaduct by Wayne Harlow. I added Intersection by Suzanne McNeill and some Florz.

And, Every Inchie Monday's prompt word is Dolphin. Did you know that you can actually adopt a dolphin? Several groups, just look it up. After drawing one, I attempted to make one with my new set of Perler Mini Beads. I certainly have a new appreciation to our beading friend, Freebird! Not even close LOL!

Zentangle® Cirquital, Meer, Oke, and an Inchie

The challenge this week, from I am the Diva, is to use something representative of the Rio Olympics. I selected the three medals. I used Cirquital and Meer and colored with gold silver and bronze Slicci pens and Prismacolor colored pencils.

The focus tangle from Square One, Facebook, was to use Oke from Michele Beauch.

And, the prompt from Every Inchie Monday is to use "fjord". Did you know that there is a small and strong horse from Norway that is called a Fjord Horse?

Zentangle® Auraknot and Meer, Abeko, and an Inchie

Laura, from I am the Diva, has challenged us to use Auraknot and Meer as a duotangle. Trying to come up with something unique for this one wasn't easy as Auraknot is quite distinctive in nature. I decided to go huge with Meer and let it hug the Auraknot. Still playing with black. I used a Slicci silver and a Prismacolor metallic purple and silver.







The focus pattern from Square One, Facebook, is to use Abeko, a tangle from Lynn Shelton Meed. I really got to push this one quite a bit.

And finally, for Every Inchie Monday the prompt word is whale. Whatever you are doing today, I hope you are having a whale of a good time!

Zentangle® Knightstar

Yesterday was a Canadian holiday for some and so the Diva did not post. I did do my normal Monday post; however, you can find it here.

So, all I have for you today is the Diva Challenge to use Daniel Lamonthe's tangle, Knightstar. I used to teach this as string art to my elementary students many years ago. We made holes in the paper and sewed these pretty designs. Here it is, in the corners, with Slicci Gel pen on black with colored pencil.

Hopefully, next week we can get back on schedule. I love schedules LOL!

Zentangle® Striping, Dazzly, and an Inchie

No post from the Diva this morning so off I went on a hunt to find that it is a Civic Holiday in some parts of Canada. So, I will simply post my Square One, a tangle called Dazzly, and Inchie for you for now and post again tomorrow.

Square One, Facebook's focus tangle is Striping. I added it to a string of Paradox.

Zentangle® in Circles, Echoism, and an Inchie

The Diva is back and this week's challenge is to use circles. Sorry I missed last week; however, I am one of those unlucky people who get car sick. The previous week we were on vacation (see previous post if interested.) But, I am back with my new black sketch book and playing with tangles, pens, and colored pencils. This is for I am the Diva and for Facebook's Tangle Pattern Club. They call it Nymph from Melissa M Barlow and I call it filled 'nzepple from Zentangle. Either way, it was fun to do using a Signo gold pen and Slicci pens. I also outlined using a Pigna Sensi and a Fabriano cool gray pen.

Here's another on my new black paper done with a white gel pen and filled with Prismacolors in metallic.

Square One, Facebook, focus tangle is Echoism to which I added Between, partial Verve, Tipple, and Fescu.

And, finally, the prompt word for Every Inchie Monday is "underground". I looked up and found some very interesting information about our local Phoenix underground world. It seems that the old hotels downtown were built way before the time of air conditioning. I can't even imagine! Anyway, after these grand hotels were built, underground tunnels were added to bring cooler air from the earth up to the hotels using fans. Of course, then better use was found and speakeasies and gambling hideouts were born.
