I had an extra tile that I had already traced the letter "J" on for a previous swap and I decided to play with it. I happened to have one of Suzanne McNeil's tangle books with me and used some of her fun tangles. Unfortunately, I forgot to write them down :( So, here it is anyway:The Diva has a birthday today. If you have not visited her blog, please do so and wish her a happy one. This week, she challenged us to use Punzel and Well as a duo-tangle. They both require a bit of concentration; but, isn't that the point of Zentangle?
And my poor Inchie goes last this week as I just couldn't get a good picture of the poor little thing. This week's word was "Jet". First thought, jet airplane = dismissed. Second thought was Jet Black. I liked that one. Once I started thinking more about it, I decided that Jet Black = Black Jet. I actually embossed this little plane with black embossing powder, and in person it looks so shiny and pretty. Not so in the photo. I scanned and took a picture but here is the best I could do. Use your imagination:

DeleteYour work is great! I hadn't seen Diva's challenge yet, I was headed over there next. Those two tangles give me fits! I almost wish I hadn't seen your gorgeous work. I foresee a struggle in my future!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cathy. Yes, they are a bit more complicated than most. Grab scratch paper first and play for awhile until it makes sense. I couldn't follow the step-outs for Well but came up with my own that worked better for me. Don't be a slave to step-outs.

DeleteThat inchie is so cute! Your piece for the Diva challenge looks like the spine with muscles (or kidneys) on each side. Someone more romantic than me would say wings. I should do more anatomical tangling (once I get back into it properly again).

ReplyDeleteThanks, Kailey. I'm sure the circular tangle is from Suzanne McNeil as I had her book out when I was working on it. It was either from book 9 or 10 as those are the new ones. If I could remember where I put them, I would tell you LOL!

ReplyDeleteI'm with you there, Kelly. If I look, I find it much harder to do for some reason. Inchies are so much fun. You have do a piece of art on a little one inch square of paper. You can use whatever materials you want. Take a look at the group I belong to and see how each person finds a different way to artistically produce a one inch square in response to a weekly prompt. DeleteYour Duotangle is wonderful. As someone else commented, it looks like a crest. I like your idea of using 1 pattern as a background when you're not sure how to get 2 to work together.
