Zentangle® a Moebius, Mak-rah-mee, and Nymph

This week the challenge over at I am the Diva is to do something using the symbol for the Moebius Syndrome Awareness Day. Please do drop by her blog to learn more about it and meet her adorable son who has this rare syndrome.
In keeping with the theme, I used the Moebius color of purple and M = Meer and S = Shard.
The prompt word at Square One on Facebook is to do Mak-Rah-Mee by Michele Beauchamp.
And, finally, using my Copic markers I did a piece with Nymph, Melinda Barlow.

Thank you for stopping by. I enjoy reading your comments!

  2. Hey Jean; Beautiful work on each one here. I really like the way you did Mak-Rah-Mee...I have done that one before (a long time ago) but never incorporated the use of shadows to show depth, I like it. Your drawings are always so clean, defined, sharp and beautiful.

  3. Jean, I really like your Moebius tile. There was no way we would not use purple to do this one. My lines look so dark you can hardly see that they are purple, but it's the thought that counts, right? Your Mak-Rah-Mee is wonderful. I haven't used that one in awhile. I like the different styles of "knots" that you put in there. I don't think I've ever used Nymph. But it is beautiful and your colors are great. I've never used copic markers but they look so wonderful. It would be fun to try them out sometime. You talk about them all the time. I'll have to look them up and learn more about them.

    1. Purple can be difficult to see in photos, Melena. I used very light purples for the bulk of the Moebius and a sparkle gel pen for the darker areas. Nymph turns out so pretty. It really is just 'Nzepple though with the focus on just certain "petals". Try it, following the step-outs and you will love it!

    1. I have come to appreciate a less cluttered look in my tangles, Katy. Maybe it is a way to combat the rest of my cluttered world :)

  7. I like how different your 3 tiles are. They could have been created by 3 different people. My favourite is your Nymph tile.

  10. All are wonderful and so different! Your Moebius tile is fabulous with Meer and Shard! I really like your tile for the Square One challenge. Lovely how the black pearls connect the Mak-ra-meh ribbons!

    1. I had the idea that some of the ribbons should circle around something, so that's how the pearls found their way into the composition. Thanks, Annette!

  14. Nice work. I like the shading on the DC tile. Was not able to get quite the effect that I wanted on mine. I am envious of your ability to get tiles done for 3 different challenges done so quickly. I am pleased that I have been able to get this one done the last couple of weeks.

    1. Donald, my finished tiles are always a surprise to me. I don't think I ever get what I had in mind, but that's just the nature of Zentangle; it does what it wants to. I get so much done because I look at Zentangle and my cardmaking as jobs. I get to work as soon as I get up and work away all day. Then, I dream it all night too and come up with more ideas, LOL!

  19. All three of your tiles are beautiful, Jean. I love the Mak-Rah-Mee composition and boldness and love the way you have used your Copics on the Nymph tile. I need to learn to use my markers one of these days. Beautiful work...all of them!

    1. Thank you, Lezli. Did you know that Spectrum Noir offers a free certification program where you can learn how to use markers? I took it even though Copics are my favorite. I don't think you can ever learn too much :)
