Zentangle® Snail, Stripes, and an Inchie

I am the Diva challenged us to use stripes today. Not really being in the mood for stripes, I thought I would play with my Distress Inks on an official Zentangle tile. I used Post It tape to make colorful stripes and THEN I was in the mood for stripes!
Distress Inks

I added Snail, Beeline, and Wired. For some contrast, I added white with an Acrylic paint
pen.

Square One, Facebook, has a focus tangle of Snail. I actually did that before the Diva tile and thought I would like to use it again.

And the prompt word over at Every Inchie Monday is Bag. Well, don't let the cat out of the bag!

(Can you guess where I got my inspiration from?)

Okay, so upon doing the link, I see that I can't read my own writing and I saw "bag" instead of "big". So here is my BIG mistake! LOL!

Thank you for stopping by. I love reading your comments!

Zentangle® Spring, Shnek, Chaz, and an Inchie

I'm back from our adventure. We drove from Phoenix to Myrtle Beach, SC. Spent a week there, then drove back through Texas to visit with family and friend. I won't bore you with the whole thing, but this will let you know the highlight for me.

Back to Zentangle though. This week, over at I am the Diva, we have a challenge to use a spring as a string. Love it!
String
I decided to aura the string so the "spring" would remain.
Maryhill, Pepper, Drupe

Square One, Facebook, has a focus tangle of Shnek. I really wanted to do this in the round but just couldn't seem to get it to connect smoothly and still be Shnek. I added my own tangle, Chaz in the center.

And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt word is Poetry. Have you ever heard of a "concrete poem"? Well, it is a shaped verse that focuses on the meaning of the poem through the shape. Not easy in one inch, but do look up examples on the Internet in images.

I'm happy to be home. I've missed all of you wonderful friends who kindly leave me comments :)

Zentangle® a Stacked Bijou, Knightsbridge, and an Inchie

I am the Diva's guest this week is CZT, Jane Reiter with a "stack Bijou" challenge, number 261. Jane used Sandy Steen Bartholomew’s online book, Tangles of Santa Fe for inspiration. Since I have that book as well, I used it for my tangles. From small to large, Knot1, Fob, Roller, Fuse, and Lune. The outer shape was airbrushed with a Copic marker. I used a white acrylic paint pen for the white accents and I shaded with colored pencil.

Square One, Facebook, has a focus tangle of Knightsbridge. I made a criss-cross shape of squares, filled sides with curved Knightsbridge, and added some Tipple in Knightsbridge style. It started to look like a bag that had a hole in it, so I playfully added some straps!

The prompt word at Every Inchie Monday is "Peanuts". When I was very young, there were no malls. We took a bus to go "downtown" to shop. There was a Planter's Peanut store and Mr. Peanut stood outside handing out hot peanuts. Ah, memories!

Thank you for stopping by. I do want to let you know that I will be gone for a few weeks, so don't worry about me. I'm off on an adventure and sad to leave my babies at home (Rufus the dog, Charlie the cat, and Jasmine the bird), but they will be fine since their beloved "uncle Paul" comes here to stay whenever we are gone. See you in a few!

Rufus was actually yawning, but I like to think he was giving Charlie an earful about stealing his bed!

Zentangle® Shattuck, Akoya, and an Inchie

The challenge over at I am the Diva is to use Shattuck. I went to grab a tile and found this one that I had covered with inks. So, why not? I used a white acrylic paint marker and added shading with black pastel.

Square One, Facebook, requires the use of traditional tiles and black and white. The focus tangle is Akoya by Sandy Hunter, CZT. After I finished that, I really had to do one on a Renaissance round tile.
Akoya, Verve and Footlites

Akoya and Diva Dance

The prompt word for Every Inchie Monday is "door". I chose to do my favorite door. I'm sure you all know where this door leads!

Thank you so much for stopping by. I truly enjoy reading your comments.

Zentangle® in Irish Green and an Inchie

A touch of Irish is the prompt over at I am the Diva. I made a couple of magnets in green and then I made two in blue for a friend. Each of these is one inch.

There is no focus tangle posted for Square One on Facebook this week.

Every Inchie Monday's prompt word is "island". Welcome to The Island of Misfit Toys! I found a free coloring book page and sized it down to one inch.

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoy reading your comments!

Zentangle® Rautyflex

The Diva was a day late in posting, so here is Challenge #258 with a "use my tangle" from CZT Kathrin Bendel called Rautyflex. I must admit that this one was quite the challenge for me. I used fine line Sharpies and Inktense watercolor pencils.
If you were looking for my regular Monday post, click here. You can see a gem tile, the Square One focus tile and the Inchie for this week.

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Zentangle® Some Gems, Yuma, and an Inchie

If you are here for The Diva Challenge, Laura will post tomorrow, so do check back. Instead, I thought I'd share a "gem" tile. I used colored pencils for this. The tangles are Hollibaugh and C-Scape.
Square One, Facebook, focus tangle is Yuma by Tina Hunzirer.

And. Every Inchie Monday has a prompt word of Spaceship. When I was young my brother always made us watch Buck Rogers. Did you know that a rocket, which is what Buck traveled in, should have been called a spaceship? A rocket does not carry people. But, Buck nor I knew that. So, in my backyard was an old peach tree that was being propped up with an old broken limb. Perfect for a small child to sit on. In the crook, I kept a black and square smooth stone. This was my communicator. Many happy hours were spent traveling the universe in my rocketship, or more properly "spaceship".

Thank you for stopping by. I hope to see you again tomorrow for the Diva's Challenge as well. I do enjoy reading your comments, and appreciate all of you who continue to encourage my efforts!
