Erin, at The Bright Owl, challenged us to use her template to represent "Winter". Winter to me is COLD and I always think of blue and white from snow and the sky. I chose a textured blue paper, used a light blue Sharpie and a white Uni-Ball Signo pen. Then, I added some white charcoal for light shading, and plain pencil for shadows. I used Sez and Paradox.
Just a bit more holiday cheer:
Jean, I love your Zendala! Using the textured paper gives it a "sueded" affect that is very cool. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteThank your, Erin. I think that is a good term for the look, sueded. Thanks for taking a look at my interpretation of your wonderful Zendala template!
DeleteYou really captured the spirit of this Dare!. Love it! Also, your Christmas tangles would make wonderful cards. Great work, Jean.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ronnie. I did use the snowman. I liked how "wonky" he is :)
DeleteI love your blue zendala. It does represent cold very well.I especially like your Paradox in the center.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Kim. I like to squeeze in Paradox whenever I can find a spot for it!
DeleteYes, you make me feel cold looking at your zendala :-) Great paper you used for it.
ReplyDeleteThe other Christmas tiles are beautiful. Made cards of it?
I'll send you photo's of snow here one day, at the moment it's about 8 C, so a bit of rain and no snow.
As, above, Annemarie, yes I did use the snowman for a card. I have such memories of childhood stories of the ice skating in your neck of the woods. I think that the stories were of ice skating on rivers to get to places. That was a long time ago and I may be mistaken. I guess I will always think of that and windmills. HAHA!
DeleteWow, Jean, this is a wonderful textured effect and the shading really adds a 3D feeling. Lovely. Happy Christmas. Axxx
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you, Annie. Thanks for stopping by and for your nice comments. It is so appreciated!
DeleteMagical Winter Wonderland!
ReplyDeleteAhh, I like the words. I remember the hush of a new falling snow. Yes, magical.
DeleteLovely. Bluee seems the right colour for wintery coldness. :-)
ReplyDeleteYes, Monica, blue really seems to do it. COLD!!!
