Create a "Valentangle" is the challenge this week from I am the Diva. Since I am a cardmaker, this was fun. You can see the valentine I made for my hubby on my cardmaking blog, TangleStreetColorway.
For this card, I used some different heart tangles from Helen Williams and a few dangles. I used very sparkly gel pens (that don't show up in photos), a Copic purple multiliner, and a white gel pen. The heart is popped up for interest.
Square One, on Facebook, has a focus tangle of Flowerly by Ina Sonnenmaser. I added half of Verve and some Betweed.
And, this week's journal page has a bit of Hollibaugh fun going on. Have you ever tried doing Hollibaugh inside of Hollibaugh? I did that in this post from last year.
Thanks for stopping by. I always enjoy reading your comments!
Great card Jean! I am sure your hubby will like it! Beautiful flowerly tile too! Happy Valentine's Day to you!
ReplyDeleteThis one is not for him, Kate, but he did love the one with the pop-ups that I made for him, link above. Thanks for stopping by and Happy Valentine's Day to you as well.
DeleteGreat idea to elevate the heart a bit... Creates lovely dimension and really shows off your lovely tangling and design. Your sketchbook page and Square One submission is elegantly beautiful as well!
ReplyDeleteSince I do make cards, Holly, I have all those items available. I do love to pop things up though. Thank you for your nice comments!
DeleteBeautiful tiles! I love your Valentangle!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Simone!
DeleteFabulously created Valentangle! Wonderful! Purple is my favourite colour!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Deanne. I really felt like using a color other than red this time :)
DeleteA beautiful card with soooo many hearts inside. Your husband will love to see how many hearts you are sending to him! Again, for me, a new tangle: Flowerly, very nice drawn. Hollibaugh is one of my favorites and I like Hollibaugh in Hollibaugh! Have a nice evening dear Jean!
ReplyDeleteFlowerly is a fun tangle, Ria, with lots of possibilities. Those are my favorite tangles :)
DeleteYour card looks so happy and colourful, I like all the different heart shapes on it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heike. It was fun to play with so many different heart styles at once.
DeleteOh wow! This is sooo cool! Love the colors and love your valentangling... wow... that was a mouthful!
ReplyDeleteHaHa, Lisa, yes a mouthful! Thank you :)
DeleteJust lovely Jean, I'd buy that card in an instant!
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you to say so, Trudi!
DeleteGreat work, Jean. Love the card for your man, very nice. Ihaven't tried a Hollibaugh inside a Hollibaugh, but I bet that would be fun! c
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cheryl. Yes, it really is fun. But, you could also put the Hollibaugh inside of the planks as well, hummmm.....
DeleteBeautiful work!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Valentine card! I like the bright colours. Your Flowery tile is fabulous. Lovely idea to combine Flowery with Verve!
ReplyDeleteI do love Verve, Annette, even partial ones, so I am always on the lookout for a place to tuck it in a tangle!
DeleteGorgeous work Jean! Your Valentangle is absolutely delightful;-)
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much, Michele!
DeleteLovely hearts and beautiful tiles.
ReplyDeleteCarmela, I appreciate your always kind comments!
DeleteWhat a bright cheerful Valentangle:) The colors and hearts designs pop! I love the little heart dangles, they add such a sweet touch.
ReplyDeleteThese gel pens are just the best ones I have ever tried, Jill. They really do make everything so shiny!
DeleteA lovely card, Jean and I love the Flowerly tile.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annemarie. I think Flowerly will be fun to play with more. Just hope I remember to do so, LOL!
DeleteWhat a wonderful Valentangle. I too love your use of purple for the heart. I haven't heard of Flowerly. I'll have to look at that one some more. Looks fun. I really like Hollibaugh but forget to use it. These that you did in your journal look wonderful. And your Hollibaugh within Hollibaugh is so much fun. Great one to try out.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it strange that we forget to use some of our favorites, Melena? For me, I think it's because I have tooooo many favorites!
