Stripes is the challenge over at I am the Diva this week. I was inspired by Laura's use of a round tile, so I thought I'd try a 3Z.
I used Diva Dance Watlz, Hibred/Band, 'Nzeppel, Vega, and Beeline.
The focus tangle for Square One, Facebook, is Paizel by CZT Angie Vandalis. I did this before the Diva challenge and realized that this was done in stripes as well!
Your splash of color is a bookmark that I made at a class I recently completed at one of the local libraries for Zentangle Inspired Art, or ZIA. Simple sample tangles (Hollibaugh, Bales, Tipple) and colored pencils. Everyone enjoyed it and went home with a completed bookmark and info on how to learn more about Zentangle.
Thank you so much for stopping by. And, a special thanks for those of you who take the time to leave me a comment. I enjoy reading each one.
I love your tiles and your wonderful bookmark :-)
ReplyDeleteGudrun S.
Thank you so much, Gudrun!
DeleteAll 3 pieces are so lovely, and I like the 3Z take on stripes very much.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lorna. I like the 3Z tiles a lot and should think to use them more.
DeleteLovely tiles Jean, loved the blue tipple on your bookmark.
ReplyDeleteI think that's my favorite for this week too, Trudi. Thank you!
DeleteLove the movement in your tile.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ally!
DeleteFun comes in 3's it seems. :-D I like all these. I haven't gotten any of the 3Z tiles yet. I guess that's my next purchase. I do like your striping on it and the tangles you used. I keep forgetting about Vega. I'll have to dig that one out. A very fun tile it is. And your Paizel is wonderful. Another one I haven't used much. Now, how can I put the 2 I haven't used in awhile together....... hmmmm. :-D Another big grin. But I do agree that your bookmark is lovely and that the blue tipple really makes it. Bookmarks are fun to make. Maybe that's what I can do to use those 2 tangles I haven't used in a while. Yeah! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteVegas is a tangle that I haven't used often either. Tipple looks best, in my opinion, when you darken the background. Yes, Melena, bookmarks are a nice thing to apply tangles to :)
DeleteI like the 3Z tile, they are fun to tangle aren't they? The bookmark is also very pretty and great that everyone could take one home.
ReplyDeleteI didn't think I would like the triangular tiles, Annemarie, and have been surprised at how much I am enjoying the shape to tangle on. Thanks so much!
DeleteHi Jean, indeed your Square tile could also be an entry for this challenge but it is also very nice what you have done on the triangle tile and wonderful what you did at the library!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ria. It was so much fun to see the excitement on each face as they saw their finished bookmark. Each one was looking forward to learning about the "real" Zentangle method, so that was good.
Deletefun way to do this challenge on the 3Z tile. Love the bookmark too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Kate. The idea to change directions on the stripes came directly from Laura's round tile.
DeleteInteresting choice of tangles, Jean. Nicely done, of course, you always do great work.
ReplyDeleteAhh, you will be a great CZT, Duane. You know just what to say to make someone feel good about what they have done :)
Delete2 wonderful stripes tiles. Okay, okay, I am not on Facebook. Hence still, 2 wonderful stripes tiles, Jean. I would need to draw a digital bookmark, all my books are on a Kindle. LOL. Or I could draw a lot of bookmarks, for small and tall imaginary books, and then make a wind chime?
ReplyDeleteSusie, Susie, Susie, how about making them for friends that still read? You must know somebody, LOL! Or, make them round, put on popsicle sticks and push into your houseplants. Or, make them shorter and attach them to gifts as the tag? Or, well, maybe a wind chime?
DeleteInspiring me to try a 3z tile. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteI had mine for months, Mary, before I even tried one. I was surprised at how nice they are to work on.
DeleteYou continue to be inspired and inspiring, Jean! Lovely tiles - I do like those 3Z ones....Axxx
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much, Annie, for your sweet comment. You started my day off with a smile :)
DeleteBeautiful! Our tiles are actually quite similar (the 3Z approach to stripes) and so I'm particularly attached to yours :)
ReplyDeleteI will have to hop over to your blog and see our twinsies, Cari!
DeleteLovely work Jean! That 3Z is outstanding 😍
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Michele!
DeleteWonderful tiles! I especially like how you incorporated stripes into a triangle. Your Paizel and bookmark are great too.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much , Sidney!
DeleteGreat idea to use a 3Z to do your stripes . . . looks great! Love your Paizel tile too and that tangle makes beautiful stripes as well. Love your bookmark and that reminds me that I need to make hubby one, I think he has been asking for awhile. Off I go to get started.
ReplyDeleteI love making bookmarks , Leslie. Your hubby will love it !
DeleteNice work. Like the Diva Challenge tile but also the Paizel stripes. I don't believe I was able to do a tile in two challenges in a row.
ReplyDeleteThank you very much, Donald!
DeleteI love seeing the stripes on a 3Z! I haven't tried Paizel yet, but I think I should! I love making bookmarks too! Do you purchase the blank ones, or do you make your own? Teaching Zentangle on a bookmark is a fabulous idea!
ReplyDeleteThe library provided the bookmarks this time, Deanne, but I make my own for myself and my students so I can use nicer paper.
DeleteSuch a great idea to use a 3Z! These are all lovely!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jennifer. They are fun to work with!
DeleteVery nice 3Z tile for the diva :-) And I love the bookmark very much!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sandra!
DeleteI like all 3 pieces and love the library class idea. I'm doing an introductory class at my library in a few weeks and this is a great follow up idea! Also wanted to say that your 3Z packs a lot of tangles into that triangle, well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lunanista, and good luck with your class!
