Zentangle® a Moebius, Waax Challenge, and an Inchie

The Diva Challenged us to be part of Moebius Syndrome Awareness day, which is on Friday, January 24th. Her adorable son, Artoo, has this very rare disorder. Here is a link to more information. I used the Moebius Syndrome Foundation's logo as provided by Laura.

Square one tangle of the week was BB. I added Sandswirl, Sez, and Jetties.

Did you know that Linda has put a "link" button now whenever she introduces a new tangle on her site (TanglePatterns.com)? I have added my link for the new tangle "Waax by Ester Piszczek with a little Crescent Moon too. If you get on her mailing list, you will know when new patterns are added to this great resource.

And, finally the Every Inchie Monday prompt: Elephant. Did you know that elephants have been trained to paint? People have watched in amazement to see them doing it and have paid large sums to purchase the paintings. However, in researching this, I have found that their trainers pull on their ears to guide the brush. Not nice. But, I love elephants and like to think they can paint because it makes them happy.

Zentangle® Lefty, Hurry, and an Inchie

Well, this WAS a real challenge. The Diva has a guest host this week, Elisa Murphy, who challenged us to use our non-dominant hand to do our tile today. It stressed me quite a bit, because, as some of you may know, I have developed trigger finger in my thumb from all my tangling. So, I have such a fear of this becoming a reality that I was completely unable to find my "Zen" in this tangle. And, I think it shows. This will be a fun one though to see what others have done. Check them out here.
I used Purk, Ixorus, and finally, I thought, just go for it, and I bravely? used Static. And, it's funny, but I think I did Static best as a lefty :)

For Square One, the tangle of the week was Hurry, to which I added Poke Root, Cubine, and BB.

And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt word was weapon. I think the most harmful weapon that we all carry is our words. Be careful what you say and to whom you aim those hurtful things. I know I have done that in the past. You can never "unsay" those things and they will haunt you forever. (Wow, that's kind of a downer way to end a post. Just go back up to the first picture and laugh at how terrible I am with my left hand and then leave me a happy comment!)

Zentangle® Dare/Challenge, Inchie and ATC

What a great week it was. I got to teach not only a class in Zentangle, but a class of enthusiastic beginning art journalers. I also got to teach a group of wonderful ladies how to use a compass to make perfect squares, triangles, and other shapes just begging to be filled with tangles. Next week, I am presenting Zentangle to a retirement community where I could have 40 to 100 attendees. That should be fun too.

Let's start this week's show and tell with saying Happy Birthday to Erin at The Bright Owl.
Erin's Dare was for us to use our favorite tangle as a gift to her. My favorite tangle is Paradox and I especially love making it adapt to any shape. I used only a partial one on the open tangle.
On to the Weekly Challenge #153 where the Diva challenged us to use Sadelle Wiltshire's Jailed Johnny. I paired this one up with BB and wound up with:
This week's Inchie was the word Cathedral. A bit of a stretch for me to think of something unique. That didn't happen, so I just did a cathedral both inside and outside:

And, Cubism was the prompt for doing some ATC trades with my Yahoo buddies.
Square stamping, collage and tangles.
Stamped squares, cut up drawn key, added Paradox square.
Splattered inks, stamped squares, cut heart with Verve, Mooka added and additional squares drawn.
