This week's Dare from Erin at The Bright Owl just was asking for a monotangle. I flipped through different tangle patterns and decided on Stricles with NO shading:
Thanks for stopping by. I love reading all your comments!
Okay, I couldn't stand it and am editing to add the same one WITH shading. Which one?
Nice job with the shading.
ReplyDeleteThanks Donald. I appreciate your comment! I actually do love to do the shading. I think it's because that means it's finished.
DeleteVery well done and original Jean. Ik think the shading makes it softer.
ReplyDeleteThank you Annemarie. I like it better shaded as well.
DeleteI have a weakness for shading, can't get enough of it. Beautiful zendalas - both!
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you, Zoe. The shading really sets off a piece. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteGreat monotangle zendala. I agree, shading is the finishing touch! Your unshaded piece looks so flat, and difficult to see how the structure of the zendala goes, and then magic happens when you shaded, the boldnes of the spaces pop up and are so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It's good to hear someone else say it. Shading is a good thing!
DeleteDefinitely the shading! I love the use of strircles for this template... wish I had thought of it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sue. I have a habit of just doing a random "point and do" approach to choosing the tangles. Wish I could be more thoughtful about it :)
DeleteI saw the unshaded one and loved it and then I scrolled down and saw the shaded one and loved it even more!!! Gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteMichele, I was happy with the unshaded one myself, but, then I couldn't let it be. I'm glad I went back and shaded. What was I thinking? Thanks for stopping by and for your comments!
ReplyDeleteI like them both, but there is no question the shading adds more to the piece. Very nicely done.
ReplyDeleteUnless I overlooked something, though, I did not see that this zendala challenge was a mono tangle. Was it?
Regardless, I love the look you achieved using Stricles!
You are correct. The challenge did not require a mono-tangle. I just felt like doing one. Thanks for stopping by and for your kind comment!
