Zentangle® a Zendala Dare #85 and New Year Wishes

Finally settling in after a busy Christmas of baking and cleaning and company. Yesterday, I cleaned up my studio and am ready to get back to normal. My first tangle to work on was this week's Zendala Dare #85 by Erin at The Bright Owl. My first thought was, "I can't do this." Not a good attitude HAHA! So, I did it anyway. I think it is a bit cluttered (Seems to be my style, maybe I shouldn't fight it?). I used Flux, Paradox, and a diamond pattern that I can't find to give you its name.
I would like to wish all of you the very best for the upcoming New Year. Your comments have been just a joy for me. I appreciate all your kind words and encouragement. The following is a poem that I wrote to bring in the New Year:

Another new year, more choices we'll make
From wishes and dreams to the roads we will take.
Some  head for riches, glory and fame
While mine, next to theirs, is ever so tame.
Just give me a pencil, some paper and pen
And I'll have a joyous new year again.

Hoping all of your dreams come true.

  1. I think this is beautiful! Your work always is though. I also love the poem at the bottom. That could become the tangler's mantra!

    1. I'm going to take a wild guess and say that it is because it reminds you of a pinwheel. How could a pinwheel not make someone happy?

  3. Jean,
This is lovely. I like the busy Flux on the outside balanced by those lovely white pieces before you get to the center. That was a brilliant decision.

    1. Well, thank you so much, Annie. I think sometimes it is hard to realize that one has a "style", but I guess we all do. Some tanglers make me gasp each and every time, so I suppose that it must be something about their style that moves me. Isn't it great that we are all different and yet appreciate what others do. I really, really thank you for the kind words; that means a lot to me :)

  11. What a lovely poem! I feel as you - some pens and paper and a comfy place to draw and I'm happy - lol. Thank you so much for all your kind comments over this past year. I really, really appreciate them and look forward to them.

Your Zendala is lovely - not too busy at all. I think you are too hard on yourself. I love how you used the Flux and then filled in with the tiny circles. Looking forward to seeing more of your art in the coming year. Also wishing you and your family all the best in the New Year.

  12. This is really nice! My favorite part is the Paradox framed by the white triangular pieces -- really does make it look like a pinwheel! Great job! Happy New Year!

  13. Love the way Flux is surrounded by orbs and circular line work. The negative space in the center give the eye a gentle place to rest. Very nice.

    1. Thank you, Tricia. I almost surprised myself by leaving a spot empty LOL. I MUST remember to do that, leave some breathing space for everything else to pop.
