Zentangle® Molygon, Balo, Flux, and 'Nzeppel

We are revisiting Molygon over at I am the Diva this week. Always a good idea to go back to tangles that you enjoyed but often forget to use.
I so enjoyed doing tangles on cardboard, that I used another one this week. I drew the Molygon around a circle using a Copic multiliner in purple. Then, I went around in gel pens filling in the negative space. A white colored pencil added some highlights and a white gel pen aura was added to the entire outer edge.

The focus tangle for Square One on Facebook was to use Jodi Christiansen, CZT's, Balo.
And, for this week's extra, the next page of my Zentangle journal featuring variations of Flux and 'Nzeppel.
Thank you for stopping by, and a special thanks to those of you who leave me comments. I so enjoy reading them.

Zentangle® 'NZeppel, Flux, Tagh, and an Inchie

The challenge, #290, from I am the Diva, is to use just 'NZeppel and Flux. I though it might be nice to use Flux as the string and fill with the 'NZeppel. I used a Renaissance tile, Polychromos pencils, and charcoal in white and brown.
The focus tangle for Square One on Facebook this week is Tagh.
And the prompt word for Every Inchie Monday is Pirates. This was a fun one to research. I found that there were several famous women pirates. I was most intrigued by a pair that became good friends, Anne Bonny and Mary Reed. The interesting thing was that both of these women were brought up as boys.

I always enjoy reading your comments. Thank you for visiting!

Zentangle® in Full Color, Flux, and an Inchie

Did you all miss me? I notice that hardly anyone comment on last week's post even though I prepared it ahead of time to post while I was gone. Anyway, hubby and I are back and I have been busy trying to catch up on all my emails LOL! Coming home from a "vacation" is exhausting. We love steam trains, and so we celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary (If you married a toad, keep going until you find your prince. I finally did!) by taking a train up in Colorado and New Mexico. It was absolutely perfect in every way :)

Now, let's get on to why you're here. You want to see the Diva Challenge for this week, which is to use the colors of the rainbow.

I used my Sakura Gelly Roll pens on a black tile. I shaded with colored pencils and added some white gel pen accents.

Or, maybe you're here to see this weeks tangle from Square One, Facebook, which was Flux. I added a bit of Rixty, Hollibaugh, Tipple, and a partial aura.
Then, again, you may be here to see the Every Inchie Monday square with a prompt word of "Etna!" Did you know that there is an is a fictional character who appears in the Disgaea series of video games? Well, me neither, but in my quest to learn new things, I found out!

I'm happy to be home and hope you all come back and leave me some of your much appreciated comments!

Zentangle® Flux, Squid, and an Inchie

The Diva is having a bit of a rough time and the link to the challenge may not show links to others' works yet. We are all saddened that poor little Artoo is having another issue with his health. He has certainly had to go through a lot already for such a sweet little fellow. We are all going to work on Flux this week and post it on our blogs only for now.
For Square One, the tangle was Squid. I made three different partial Squids that played tangle with each other. If you add your tangles to this group, I apologize if I have not "liked" your tangle. There are so many people in the group that it's easy to miss someones. It sure is a great place to see what everyone comes up with though, almost like the Diva Challenge.
And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt word was Oak, which, as a spinner, I took as an OAK which stands for "One of a Kind." I spun this yarn on my Ashford Traveler spinning wheel and it is made with 80% New Zealand Merino and 20% silk. The color is Black Current. Isn't it yummy? And, nobody else has the exact same yarn, so it is definitely one of a kind!

Thanks for stopping by. I enjoy reading your comments!

Zentangle® a Zendala Dare #85 and New Year Wishes

Finally settling in after a busy Christmas of baking and cleaning and company. Yesterday, I cleaned up my studio and am ready to get back to normal. My first tangle to work on was this week's Zendala Dare #85 by Erin at The Bright Owl. My first thought was, "I can't do this." Not a good attitude HAHA! So, I did it anyway. I think it is a bit cluttered (Seems to be my style, maybe I shouldn't fight it?). I used Flux, Paradox, and a diamond pattern that I can't find to give you its name.
I would like to wish all of you the very best for the upcoming New Year. Your comments have been just a joy for me. I appreciate all your kind words and encouragement. The following is a poem that I wrote to bring in the New Year:

Another new year, more choices we'll make
From wishes and dreams to the roads we will take.
Some  head for riches, glory and fame
While mine, next to theirs, is ever so tame.
Just give me a pencil, some paper and pen
And I'll have a joyous new year again.

Hoping all of your dreams come true.

Tangling Lefty, Adding Grounding, and a Bookmarker for Fall

A Facebook group I belong to was talking about doing an Autumn Bookmarker. Nothing came of it, but the idea was in my head anyway:

I played with spray paints, glitter glue, Copics and colored pencils.

I had a small silk leaf that I used to trace on one and spray over on the other. I used Betweed, 'nZeppel, and something I can't remember the name of. Sigh.

The Yahoo ZIA Group had us do a tile adding some grounding. I don't often think of doing this, so I thought it would be a good idea to try:

Printemps, 'nZeppel, Static, Flux and Amaze

Well, trying to do a Zentangle lefthanded was quite the challenge, from the Diva. I noted a few things while trying to draw with my non-dominant hand. First, I drew more lightly, second, I drew more slowly. Then, I noticed that I was very tense and un-zentangle like and had to force my shoulders down. Then, I started to wonder if I should try to turn my hand upside down like most lefties do. That didn't work at all. I'm almost embarrassed to post this one:

I though it best to use easy tangles for this one. I used Mooka, Crescent Moon, Flukes, and Pokeroot. Can anyone guess why there is a Bronx Cheer in there HAHA!

But It's a Dry Heat

This week's Dare from Erin at The Bright Owl was to do a Zendala using tangles that start with letters either in the word Hot or Heat. Well, living in the Phoenix area of AZ where it was 118 degrees last week, that was a fun one to do. I settled on Hollibaugh, Efilys, Arc Flower and Tidings:

I also had some fun with some Celtic Knots that were freehand stye a la Patrick Gallagher.

I used Copics and Sharpie pens.

Then, I pulled out some tiles that I had drizzled some rubber cement on. After it dried, I watercolored the sections. After that dried, I rubbed off the rubber cement and tangled.

Footprints, Dyon, Hurry, Diva Dance, Sez, Rain,  Flux

Still trying to do different tangles.

Snail, Cubine, Facets, Stricles

As you can see, I was still in the Celtic Knot mode a bit.

If you've never tried this, it makes for a fun string.

And finally, a few ATC that I did as a trade for my Yahoo Group done in the style of In the style of Karin Kuhlmann. If you have not seen her work, do look it up.

She does beautiful digital work. I haven't even come close to representing her, but I enjoyed trying.

Aqua Markers, colored pencils, Sharpie pens.
