Zentangle®, Inchie, Dangles, and Coasters

I know you are used to me posting early in the week; however, I have been on a bit of a holiday and just returned yesterday. So, making up for lost time, I did the challenge of "use my tangle" from the Diva. This week's challenge was to try Erin Olson's tangle: Charlie. I think I got just a tiny bit carried away LOL:

Every Inchie Monday asked us to use the prompt "Explode". This is my brain when I am thinking!

A trade going on in my Zentangle Inspired Art group on Yahoo is for ATC Dangles. I did one on white, one on cream and one using gel pens. I think I prefer the "traditional" one on white best.

And, finally, some coasters that I made as a gift to take to a Canadian friend who brought me TONS of Qiviut (rare and costly yarn made from the Musk Ox):
I can't wait to go see what everyone else has been up to this week. It may take me a few days to do that though :)

  1. Yet another stunning display! That Charlie monotangle itself looks like an explosion. Your exploding head is hilarious - you speak for all of us :)
Love your dangles and coasters. And very interested to learn about Qiviut - I like to work with yarn and thread too. What will you be doing with yours?

    1. Wow, Zoe, thank you for the very kind words. I have been a knitter for a long time and have made tons of stuff. Unfortunately, I developed trigger finger in my thumb when I retired and was knitting and drawing all day with a very tight grip. I haven't been able to knit for months and am hoping that I will again soon. The Qiviut is a very fine fiber so it would be suitable for a shawl or scarf. I think I have enough to make both. I am in the process of hunting down patterns using larger needles (I love making socks with size one needles) because I think they will be less stress on my hands. I hope so anyway :)

  3. An absolute Sunday morning pleasure for me, Jean. Sitting with my coffee looking at your lovely art work this morning. SO much fun - I love the exploding brain and Charlie is sort of a Zentangle version of the same thing!!
I really like the Zendangle things - I haven't really tried this style much but it's lovely. I think I like your middle one the best. And the coasters are stunning! Do tell how you did them...

    1. I think all of the things that I worked on were easy to do because they all were such fun, Annie. The coasters are sold where they have cross stitch. They come with the fabric and a design and are less than $5.00 each. I just took out what it came with and used the backing paper that was already cut to the correct size to tangle on. A great gift.
