Zentangle® Spiral, Inchie and Dangled Cat

Aprox. 51/2 x 41/2 inches. Wood, painted white, nose with glitter glue, dangles with black pen and colored gel pens. Also, a collar of "gems", a bit of Copic shading and a coat of clear acrylic.
I gave a class yesterday on Dangles like Joanne Fink does and it motivated me to do a kitty on a wooden shape as a sample of what you can do with these fun dangly  shapes. I have more classes on Friday and, if you look at my Workshop/Classes tab on the top, you can see one of the wonderful finished student dangles.

The Diva Challenge #160 was to use a spiral as a string. What fun this one was. I had so many wonderful things going in my brain but I never seem to get down on paper what is in my head. Nevertheless, I like what finally found its way to my tile:
And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "figure." I got so deep into "figure of speech" and finally settled on Onomatopoeia  (the use of words that imitate the sounds associated with the objects or actions they refer to.). If you like to play with words, here is a great list of the different types of figures of speech. This one is saying "Wake Up!"

    1. Thank you, Amy. Fortunately, Zentangle is easy to fit into spare moments, not like writing the American novel :)

    1. Thanks, Cathy. Michael's has those cats for only 99 cents, so you can't go wrong. I was thinking that the little ones, even less expensive, would make good gift tags too.

  14. I love popping over to your blog, Jean - it's always uplifting, often amusing and always puts a smile on my face. I love your cat - especially it's comical look! And your spirals are great. However, an alarm clock can never be my favourite thing, just because it always wakes me too early....Axxx

    1. Annie, you are too funny. I have such memories of that particular style of clock that tormented me for years. When I was a child, I would protest vigorishly when it was nap time. My mom always told me that I didn't have to sleep, just watch the clock for the hand to reach a certain number. I always fell for it and wound up taking a nap. Just think of the hours of my life wasted on those silly naps. (Of course, once I was a mother I understood the method to her madness LOL)
