Zentangle® Zendala, Beads of Courage, and an Inchie

Busy, busy. You think my life? No, I think my tangles! The Zendala Dare from Erin at The Bright Owl was back this week. We are all so HAPPY! Which was our dare, to use the letters of HAPPY if we chose to. Well, I was working on that and I wound up with a very busy piece. I was able to use Hurry, Arc Flower, Paushalov, Pepper variation, and Yincut. I decided to go with a thicker black pen and define some of the  areas, and I think that helped.

You must go over to I Am the Diva and read about Beads of Courage. My husband and I were both moved to tears. My tile is dedicated to Artoo because that little guy is so precious:

And, this week's Inchie was to use the word "Legal". My first thought was a legal pad. I love them. I guess I love all paper, pencils, erasers, pens, crayons, paints, markers... well, you get the idea :)

    1. Thank you. Please go to http://www.zentangle.com/ and click on "learn." You will find Zentangle teachers in the UK. That is the very best way to learn Zentangle. If that's not possible, I highly recommend Zentangle Basics, by Suzanne McNeil, and The Joy of Zentangle from Design Originals with Certified Zentangle Teacher input. Good luck and I'm only an email away if you have questions :)

  2. Yes, Jean - this is a great Zendala - busy, complex and happy! I so agree with you about Artoo's story. He has such a lot of beads - they are a very inspirational family. And a great Twinchie to boot! Axxx

  6. I love your art this week. I love the take on the inchie theme. Also love beads of courage. I have donated beads to them. They are an awesome cause. Beads are a very healing medium.

    1. Thanks. I didn't realize that Beads of Courage are from my home state of Arizona, down in Tucson. Wonderful program. Did you make the beads yourself?

  8. Nice zendala! I love your version of pepper, and the thicker lines really do add contrast to a fairly busy tile. I love Hurry and keep forgetting about it!

    1. Thanks, Sue, and it is soooo very kind of you not to point out the "mistake" (of which there are NONE in Zentangle) or how I tried to save the piece LOL!

    1. Thank you, Alice. Yes, do go over to Every Inchie Monday and join us. We have a lot of fun. Some people do sooo much to their inchie, while I do a simple drawing that takes only minutes. So, you can spend a lot or just a little time and still enjoy :)

  10. Really love all the line work in the Zendala - my favorite style. Jetties work well - haven't used that tangle in awhile - nice reminder as it's used here.

    1. Isn't it fun to see what everyone uses? I say that to myself all the time, "I keep forgetting to use xxxx" too, but I guess that's because there are just so many of them out there to choose from.

  11. Great idea to add the thicker lines, ties your pepper variation in nicely. I too was very moved to read about the Beads of Courage, Artoo already has so many collected in his short life. Love your tile and Artoo will too :) Linda x

    1. Another kind comment, Linda. No mention at all of my Pepper oops lol! So, the darker lines were to balance out the oops HAHA!

  16. Nice job on all of them. I do like your variation of pepper in the zendala. Think this was an easy template to use a lot of line work. I had to resist the temptation.

  17. Your bead tangle is so very lovely ... and extra special with Artoo in there!! Your other tangle sort of looks like a plate of cookies (a good thing!!). Very lovely!!
