Zentangle®, Cubine, Pokeroot, Bunzo and an Inchie

This week, the Diva challenged us to do a duotangle of Cubine and Pokeroot. These are basic beginner tangles but I'll bet we see some masterful adaptations from our talented group.

 Can you see the three Pokeroot tangles?







Square one, on Facebook, gave us Bunzo to work with. I really enjoyed this one. I added some Mooka.
And, over at Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "Egyptian". The eye of Ra was passed to each Pharaoh and was thought to be all seeing and protected the King by repelling all evil!


 
And, just for fun, I thought I'd share some tiles that I just did for a class I taught using alcohol inks on tiles. If you are local, I would love to do this class again. We sure had fun. Check out my Workshops page above that lists the classes I can arrange for you.

    Beautiful eye on your inchie! The zentangles are wonderful and I love the colourful ink tiles!

    Great artwork!. I always look forward to your tangles. Love your inchie eye - a popular image as you say. Your ink tiles are stunning. What a great idea. Wish I lived nearby.

    Love the coloured tiles and the way the inks have blended. Your Diva tile is very cleverly curved, it must have taken quite a bit of thought to get it just so.

      Thank you, Margaret. Alcohol inks are so much fun to manipulate. I often curve grids, so it really wasn't difficult to get Cubine to fit inside of the Poke Root.

    That is one gorge Eye of Horus! Love the ink tiles, and the one for Diva challenge reminds me of the human brain (and, yes, I love it just for that).

    Love the way you put Cubine in Pokeroot, and the striping in Mooka is great. Bunzo is one of my favorite tangles. I need to catch up on my Square One tiles. Love your eye and those tiles are gorgeous. I have been wanting to try the different inks and techniques (maybe some day).

      I love teaching, Freebird. That's just what I was born to do I think :) I think of it more as sharing though and I think of friends, not students.

    I like your Cubine inside Pokeroot; I did something a bit like it, but with totally different result. The ink tiles are beautiful!

    You hit the ball out of the park this week, Jean. All of your tiles are are wonderful! After my little experiment with Alcohol inks, I can't wait to go back and play some more now that I've seen the gorgeous tiles you posted. I do wish I was close enough to take a class from you. You're a multi talented artist and, from your post here it's easy to see, you're a gifted teacher as well. Thanks for sharing!

      Thanks, Suzanne. What's nice about using tiles as a pallet, is that if you don't like it, spray with alcohol and start again. It will leave some color, but the new creation will cover it all. Best part is that the tiles are very inexpensive. I think I paid 14 cents for each one.

    I like your diva-challenge tile with this "hidden" Pokeroot ;-) Very creative!
    The bunzo tile is also wonderful with this sparkling effect. Nice inchie too.

    I love all your tiles, But I like the Bunzo tile best. Bunzo is also one of my favourite.

    Yes, I can definitely see the pokeroot and the cubine within...great idea! Also I am always attracted to color and the alcohol ink tiles are gorgeous!

      Boy, talk about color! Those alcohol inks are really vivid! Keep in mind, you can always use your Copic or Spectrum Noir refils too for this work.

    pokeroot as a string! very cool. And your inchie is so nice. My daughter's favorite design element is eyes, fancied up like Egyptian or embellished in other ways. This reminds me of her a lot. Good work

      When I was a teenager, I loved the look of very dramatic eyeliner in dripping black HAHA! The first time I was allowed to wear makeup and came downstairs, I thought my mom was going to make me remove it when she said, "go back". But, then she finished the sentence and said "and put on more!" Great supportive mom!

    Interesting way to address this - putting Cubine inside Poke Root. Have not looked at a lot of posts yet but guessing this will be a unique approach.

    Jean... Your art work is always such a pleasure to look at! It is so fun to see that you used Poke Root as a string! I ended up using it as a string as well... Isn't it fun to look after you create something to see others are on the same wavelength! I really like your bunzo and how it continues on into Mooka. Your alcohol ink tile and inchie are so well done. I'm sure your students LOVE your classes! It's been awhile since I've been able to visit your blog and art... It's nice to be back!
