The challenge this week, from I am the Diva, is to use something representative of the Rio Olympics. I selected the three medals. I used Cirquital and Meer and colored with gold silver and bronze Slicci pens and Prismacolor colored pencils.
The focus tangle from Square One, Facebook, was to use Oke from Michele Beauch.
And, the prompt from Every Inchie Monday is to use "fjord". Did you know that there is a small and strong horse from Norway that is called a Fjord Horse?
Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments!
Aw your horse is the cutest!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ann. Not easy for me to draw a horse, but at least I tried LOL!

ReplyDeletesnap - amazing what you can find when you look - I've been horse crazy since I was a little girl - it's still my favourtie part of the Olympics but you have to look hard to find coverage! Well done

I didn't even know that horses were part of the Olympics! Thank you, Kia!
DeleteWonderful artwork and a fabulous inchie. I had never heard of the horse before.
ReplyDeleteLove Chrissie xx
Thanks, Chrissie. Neither had I. That's the fun part of these inchies. I love finding something new or trying something new.
Deletelove the fjord horse, I debated on that one myself but I dont think I could do it justice like you did!
ReplyDeleteHaHa, you really couldn't have drawn (or sewed) a worse horse. Poor little thing!
DeleteSuch a cute little horse and love your medals!
ReplyDeleteYou are kind, Suse. At least I tried to draw a horse. I guess you can tell what it is, but I do need to do some work on horse drawing :) However, in a cartoon style, he is alright! Maybe I'll just pretend that is what I was going for :)
DeleteYour ichie of the Fjord is lovely. I'm fond of these horses. They also live in Iceland and I went there special to take a ride. They are very kind and easy to ride on. I have nice memories of them.
ReplyDeleteYour two tiles are very nice, I like the colors you have used on the black tile and I like the contrasts on your white one. Well done!
Oh, how lucky you are to have actually met these horses, Ria! They sounded so sweet to me.
DeleteYou've done a beautiful job with the black tile, I love your interpretation.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Daniele. I usually avoid that tangle, but it seemed appropriate for what I was going after in this case.
DeleteGreat lateral thinking on your inchie this week. Love the medal tangles.
ReplyDeleteIt comes from spending a childhood in a completely make-believe world, Wendy :)
DeleteWhat is the saying again?????? Great minds ..... :-)
ReplyDeleteBut, of course Annemarie LOL!
DeleteWhat a cool fjord pony!
ReplyDeleteSally
Thanks, Sally. He does look very young. No wrinkles at all LOL!
DeleteLove the tangle of medals! And you should be kinder to yourself; your horse is great!
ReplyDeleteThank you, though it's one of the things that my students always liked best. They would look at what I had done, Dorita, and said "I can do better than that!" It always made me smile because if mine was perfect, they would be discouraged before they even tried :) I'm always happy to see someone do better :)
DeleteThis made me chuckle;-) I love your fjord horse and your tiles are really lovely. I especially love your "Oke".
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to hear that someone smiled. Smiling is so healthy when it is sincere. Thank you, Michele!
DeleteWe're heading to Iceland in September, so I'll definitely be on the look out for some fjord horses. I'll share some photos if I find any. I like your choice of Olympic medals for your Diva challenge response. Very nice!
ReplyDeleteHow lucky you are to see so many beautiful places, Suzanne. Of course, I myself would never leave "down the shore"! I hope you do get to meet some of these horses while you are there. They sound very loving.
DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank, Simone!
DeleteThat is the sweetest looking horse, Jean. We always learn something new, yes? Your tangling is great. I'm really digging the black tiles you've been working on. c
ReplyDeleteYes, Cheryl. I do love learning something new. If I am not, I get depressed. It took me many years to figure that out about myself, so now I just roll with it and enjoy every minute.
DeleteWhat a darling fjord horse! The medals glisten on the black tile, and I like how you've incorporated Meer again.Your Oke tile, with the floral composition, reminds me of an elegant lady's brooch:)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jill. I was thinking of a flower when I drew Oke, but a brooch is even nicer :)
DeleteWonderful pieces again! Your Oke-tile is lovely with its contrast. Your cute fjord horse made me smile. What pretty eye lashes it has!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Annette. I just realized that my horse looks just like my giraffe (on the right side for Facebook. Guess I am big on eyelashes LOL!
DeleteI love your diva tile - the gold, silver and bronze pens made it so special :-) Nice inchie!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Sandra!
DeleteJean, your Fjord Horse is so cute. You did a great job on that for not being able to draw a horse very well. ;-) I've known about these horses but didn't know that's what they are called. I always learn something new on your site. I like your Oke tile very much too. And your Olympics tile is perfect. I've been out of town and even though I got back on Thursday I've been so busy I didn't get to this challenge. Oh well, there's always next week. Thanks for all the beauty and fun you share each week.
ReplyDeleteI have always loved animals with big feet. It just makes them cute to me. Thanks for the kind words. Don't worry about missing a week; we all should do it once in a while. I think it's healthy not to feel obliged to so many things :)
