Zentangle® Hamadox, Neuron, and Crescent Moon

The first Monday of the month, so it is a UMT (use my tangle) over at I am the Diva. This week's tangle comes rom CZT Diana Schruer and is called Hamadox. It is backed with Florz. I use a Renaissance tile with a pink Copic Multiliner and Prismacolor pencils.
The focus tangle from Facebook's Square One is Beth Snoderly’s Neuron. Very simple tangle, so it was fun to come up with something different using a "star" based one instead of the circles.
Beginning to work through the basic beginner tangles with variations in my journal, starting of course with Crescent Moon.
Thanks so much for stopping by. I always enjoy reading your comments!

  1. Love the way you've done Hamadox. I think it's a fun tangle.

I also loved the way you dressed up Neuron with the stars, and did the variations of Crescent Moon. Looks like you have been having fun with tangles this week!!

    1. I always try to have fun with my art, Joyce. I don't think I would do it at all if that were not so :) Pushing tangles is the most fun, for me anyway.

    1. It must be soooo much fun to see what other people do with your own creation. I enjoyed working with this one. I was fascinated to see how it morphs right into the Paradox. Great tangle!

  5. I really love your Diva Challenge Hamadox tile. It looks great in those colors with the pink on the tan tile. And your Florz looks like the diamond shapes are popping right off the page. I've never seen that before. What a great idea. I actually had to look up Neuron. I haven't used it in awhile and couldn't remember the little circles. Ahhh, yes. I love the stars in there. Another great idea. LOL.

I like seeing your journal and what you're doing with it. I was saying last week that I couldn't keep up a journal and now I have to take that back. I try out all the tangles in a sketch book before I try them on a tile. I've been doing this since I started tangling, with every page dated and sometimes I'll even put comments about the tangles and my ability or inability to do them. Of course I miss lots of days, but I've got about 4 different sketch books full of things I've tried out. Sooooooo, I guess I have been keeping a journal. LOL

    Thanks for all your inspiration.

    1. It is interesting how a journal can be so many things for different people and for different uses, Melena. Yes, you can definitely say you have been keeping a journal. They're not necessarily for sharing with others. The only reason I'm sharing is to force me to continue to do it, LOL!

    1. Thank you Miss L. Crescent Moon certainly does have a lot of different ways to incorporate it into a tile for sure!

  10. Hamadox looks beautiful in that colour on Florz, very nice Jean and so is also your use of the stars together with Neuron.
Having a scetchbook to variate and play with tangles can be very usefull and nice too, I like your Crescent Moon "exercices" very much.

    1. Thank you, Ria. I thought it was about time I did something a bit more "professional" than all the scraps of paper floating about, LOL!

  11. Jean, Nice tile with Hamadox and florz. Like a lot have been saying about it that it pops right out from the paper is so true. Nice work.

    1. I think, Duane, that adding that tiny bit of white to the upper corner helped a lot in making Florz pop. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. Thank you, Michele. Yes, we all need to go back once in a while to review the basics and see how much more they can do than we originally thought when we first learned them.

  16. Love the color in your challenge tile. The white highlights really add to the overall look. I went with a simple background as well. I thought about Florz and decided to go a different direction.

    1. I think that many of us thought this tangle was just too pretty to add much more than a simple background, Donald. I thought your tile was wonderful. Thanks for stopping by.

  20. These are all lovely, but I really appreciate the Diva tile. Sooooo soft and swirly. The colored pencil background, the highlights all make it feel as light as dust!
