Zentangle® Signalz and a Spooky Treat

First, let me apologize to anyone who's blog I didn't make it to last week. I was gone for several days while I attended an Advanced Copic (alcohol markers) Retreat. I am so far behind on everything that I am going to use an image that we colored at the retreat and add it to a tangled background for this week's I am the Diva challenge. Not a photo, but an image just the same set on an easel card base.
Regular followers will know that coloring and cardmaking are my other loves. If you would like to see more, hop over to my other blog TangleStreetColorway.

The focus tangle for Square One, Facebook, is Signalz by Bev Ripps.
That's it for this week. Hopefully, I will be back on track soon.

Thanks for dropping by. I do love reading your comments.

  1. I love your little ghosts Jean. What a wonderful time for you to go to that retreat. I've been learning more about color pencils. Found some very informative YouTube videos and I thought "Why haven't I learned this before?" and I even have a book on using color pencils that never mentions what I learned. So now you'll see more color pencil in my ZIAs. :-D I like the Signalz tangle. I've been thinking about using that one but it hasn't some up on a tile yet. Have fun catching up this week.

    1. I love color, Melena, so ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) really appeals to me. I like colored pencils too. And, yes, with YouTube there is nothing you can't learn to do. I do like taking "live" classes a lot too though.

  2. Love the ghost tile. The coment underneath made me smile, although these two ghosts don't look like they could scare the crap out of anyone. They are sooo cute.

    1. The image is called "Ghost Friends" and Scrapper's Delights. You should get it and make it for your friend, Deanne!

  5. I'm happy for you that you could visit such a nice retreat.
The quote about those little spokes is beautiful and made me smile. This card is really wonderful.

    1. I have gone to three of these intense coloring events, and enjoyed each one. It is so nice to be with people who actually understand why we color. It's like dealing with people who stare at us blankly when we tell them we tangle :) Thanks for your kind words, Ria!

  11. Crap, did you really write 'crap', Jean? Oh well, in connection with baby ghosts I guess it is the perfect word. Love your 'laptop' card (well, it sort of looks like one) and the square one. Don't have FB, so we will never meet there.

    1. HaHa, Susie. I didn't create the sentiment, it came with the set so I used it after I colored the ghosts to complete the card. Besides, my mother always told me never to be wishy washy with my expletives, so I would have gone for stronger myself :) (But never on my blog, of course. I certainly hope I didn't offend anyone.)

  15. I've also started "playing" with color more and enjoyed your ghost card. Are copic alcohol ink markers different from the regular copic markers to which the Zentangle Mother Ship introduced us?

    1. Interesting, Suzanne. When I went for my CZT training, ZIA was still frowned upon and no mention of color was made. Since Marie does a lot with color, I knew it would grow to accept color, but I didn't know they had introduced the idea of Copics to CZT's. Yes, Copic markers are the same thing. Alcohol inks. I have been working with them for years and am still learning techniques. It's just like any other practice: Easy to do simply, a bit more complicated if you want to excel. I love my Copics :)
