Zentangle® Aquafleur, Nymph, and an Inchie

The Diva ran a day late this week with Challenge #240. However, we are all happy to hear that Artoo is doing better. Laura suggested that we do something inspired by the season. Well, I live in Arizona where mother nature doesn't know it's fall yet. I do come, originally, for New Jersey. I remember the beautiful fall leaves. I wanted to do a leaf on a tan tile and went hunting for an image to use. I found a free image that I used to make a stencil with my Scan n Cut machine. I sprayed with Dylusion sprays and did Aquafleur with a Tombow brown pen. I added sepia pencil for shading, white colored pencil for an outline, and a white gel pen to the simmer.
Square One chose the focus tangle of Nymph b CZT Melinda Barlow. I added Nippa.

And, Every Inchie Monday's prompt word was "yogurt". Well, I love yogurt and eat some almost every day. However, did you know that yogurt is also an excellent brass cleaner? (Can anyone guess that I used to be a teacher LOL!!!)

Thank you for stopping by. I truly enjoy reading your comments.

Zentangle® on a Stencil, Zenith, and an Inchie

This week, over at I Am the Diva, Laura has a guest post from Charlotte Carpentier, CZT. Charlotte suggested that we try some stencils to make our strings. I made a few and really didn't like them until I grabbed a piece of heavy white paper to sop up the top of the stencil I had used that was covered in Dylusions Ink Spray. I loved the reverse use of the stencil. I did very little tangling, using a white Signo, mostly because I liked it just the way it was at that point. A bit of Verve, not even completed, and some Holibaugh style crossed auras.
The focus tangle for Square One (Sorry, no link today. Facebook seemed to be having a meltdown?) was to use Zenith. I had just done that and so I just decided to push it even more. I made it go in the round and then I expanded it outward in Arukas style.
And, finally, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt word was Hotel. Well, we have a very famous hotel here in Jerome, Arizona named the Grand Hotel of Jerome. Thought to be haunted by many it is quite the tourist attraction. I have seen it, but never gone in. We go up to Jerome now and then to have lunch at the Haunted Hamburger and enjoy the gorgeous view as the town is built high up on the side of the mountain!

I did attempt to draw this and then gave up and just printed out a one inch photo that I doctored just a tad. I guess I was never meant to be an architect LOL!

Thank you for stopping by. I always enjoy reading your comments!

We are off on a little trip, so if you leave a comment after Tuesday, the 29th, it may not post for several days. I do comment moderation and I don't think we will have the Internet where we are going camping. I will post them all and reply after we return. (If you think you might come to my house and "steal" pencils while we are gone, be aware that our house sitter will be here with our big dog Rufus, kitty Charlie, and bird Jasmine!) Thanks for your understanding.

C-scape and Zendala #59

This "getting ready to retire" is exhausting! I will really need a good rest when this upcoming, last week of working is over :)

This weeks Zendala template from Erin at The Bright Owl looked so simple. I, of course, had to make it not simple. I did enjoy working on it though. A lot:
Then, I did a TOW (tangle of the week) with my Yahoo group using Susan Olsen's C-scape. Oh, what a lovely new tangle is that one. I had days of playing before I settled on doing it in the round - just to see if I could:
Next time you hear from me, I will be RETIRED! (Does that mean tired all over again?)

Dare #56, Bunny and Birdies

Erin, at The Bright Owl, challenged us to do a tangle with only pencil. I found myself forgetting and making a mess of smudges all over my once white paper. It was an interesting challenge though:
I had a great time yesterday with a group of tanglers. We all worked on tangling using stencils. Oh, how that has opened up another door. Look on the Internet. There are billions of stencils, coloring book pages, etc. free for the taking.
