This week The Diva's Challenge #147, was to use Laura's own Boo-Kee in our work. This was a new one to me and I really had fun with it. Lots of people adapted it to snowmen, seasonal, but I had to go elsewhere. I was thinking of my beloved marble collection that I had as a child when I did this one:
The Bright Owl's template for this week also used small circles. Maybe I should have combined them? I'll bet somebody did. I pulled out another tangle that I have never used though, Vitruvius, an official Zentangle with unposted steps. (CZT's get to have all the fun!)
For my group of once a month tanglers, I did one on the new tan tiles:
And, for my sister-in-law, I made a special picture of a dachshund that she requested. I used Copic to color and used an online coloring book picture for the dachshund shape. She loved it!
What a joy to find FOUR lovely drawings! I really love the one on the tan tile - just my favourite colour combination....but the dachshund, well, an absolute sweetie. Axxx
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annie. I loved doing the dachshund because it was going to someone that I love :)
DeleteHi Jean, thanks for your kind comments on my challenge tile I submitted. I really like using the Zentangle patterns to make up tiles and I try most of the time to do that. Your ZIA tile looks good with all the houses showing off their tangle parts to make up the houses themselves. I like your use of Boo-Key for the street the houses sit on...kinda like it is supporting the houses and therefore the central theme of the tile; which it should be. Nice work. I like your dachshund too.
DeleteThanks, Duane, for your nice comments and for stopping by. It's just so much fun to see what everyone else is doing. I enjoy these dares and challenges for that reason :)
DeleteThey are all great, but I especially like the tan tile. NancyD
ReplyDeleteThanks. The new tan tiles are very pretty, Nancy, but more delicate. You need to be gentle with a stump or it makes a mess of the tiles.
DeleteLoooove the tan tile! There's something about that colour combination, isn't there. And that dog is a heartbreaker.
ReplyDeleteI am so rapt you're joining the inchie group. Why don't you join in for the rest of this year as well. If not, then I will definitely "see" you there next year.
Thank you, Zoe. I will have to wait until the new year for the inchies, but I'm excited to try something new.
DeleteGreat rolling marbles and your dachshund has attitude....splendid!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Shelly. The butterfly on his nose was a last minute addition and I think that's what makes the whole thing come together.
DeleteIsn't it interesting how different Boo*Kee can look? These are beautifully done and who doesn't love a dachshund?
ReplyDeleteYes, Susan, it is fun to see how everyone does theirs differently. And, thanks for the kind words.
DeleteJean, your Boo*Kee is gorgeous, I love it. The other three are lovely too.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Annemarie. Boo-Kee was different and fun to do. I really enjoyed seeing everyone's take on it. Your's was great also.
