Zentangle® Hitched, XYP, and an Inchie

It's so nice to have the Diva and her challenge back again this week. The first Monday of the month is another UMT (use my tangle) and the tangle was chosen from Heidi Sue, called Hitched. Do give it a try. I added a bit of Pokeroot and Paradox.

Square one tangle this week was XYP from Sandy Steen Bartholomew. I had some fun connecting these and letting some float away. I added some Diva Dance and Msst.
And, after completing one full year of Every Inchie Monday, a new year starts with the word "egg." This is a great time to join us. Small, easy, and fun. Don't put all your eggs in one basket!

  1. Happy New Year, Jean. Once again you have managed to make your Diva's weekly challenge tile multi-dimensional. One of my resolutions is to learn how to improve my shading technique---another is to not put all my eggs in one basket. ;-)

    1. Happy New Year to you, Suzanne. I'm glad you and my friend, Amy, have met online for now. You're going to just love her! Shading is just soooo much fun, so keep at it. And, be careful with those eggs :)

  4. Love all your eggs in the basket! Have to get back to tangling - I've sort of got out of the habit over the holidays. I'm throwing away old Christmas stuff today that I will never use again, but a lot of which has sentimental value. Very tough, but I must move this year - sometime. Not yet exhausted. Happy New Year!

    1. Maybe you could take some pictures of all that old stuff? Then, you would actually still have it if you ever wanted to include it into some art journaling or something. It is hard to let go, but so freeing to move forward. Good for you. Happy New Year, Kia!

    1. Well, Freebird, you know I just have to jump outside of the box whenever I can. Although, I really thought everyone would do this one :)

    1. Thanks and Happy New Year to you. I think we all stay way too busy sometimes, Lila. Remember the days of watching the clouds go by and seeing things in them? We all should stop and look at the clouds once in a while. (Roses make me sneeze LOL!)

  8. Three lovely pieces Jean, as well as good advice. I never thought of taking a picture of sentimental things and keeping those instead. An excellent idea to help get rid of the beloved clutter in life and, maybe, make space for something new,

    1. Thank you, Suzanne. Parents today are lucky. They don't have to keep every "masterpiece" that their kids come home with HAHA!

    1. You too, Trillian. Well, at first it looked like a basket of potatoes LOL! I had to add some white paint to turn them back into eggs :)

  12. I love the bold lines of the Hitch tile and the shading, although quite subtle, makes it stand out. It looks as if you were having fun. I didn't really enjoy either of these patterns but the act of discipline required was good for me.

    1. I feel that way too sometimes, but maybe it is because HeidiSue designed this tangle that I felt more like doing it. And, yes, I did have fun with it. Thanks.

    1. Thank you, Pat. I have fun with all the different art forms that I do, now that I am retired. I appreciate your visits and that you take the time to leave a comment. I feel guilty sometimes because I belong to so many different groups that I sometimes run out of time to comment everywhere, but I sure try.
