Zentangle® Skye, Bales, and an Inchie

Skye, by CZT Margaret Bremner, is the tangle chosen by I Am the Diva this week. I have been seeing several beautiful compositions recently using this tangle but hadn't gotten around to trying it. What a fun tangle. It does require a bit of concentration though, so be ready to devote some time to it the first few times around. I added some Fife and Betweed.

Facebook's Square One's focus tangle of the week is Bales. An old favorite! I added Verve, another favorite of mine.
Humm, now that I post them both I can see some similarities. Must be getting into a rut LOL!

Every Inchie Monday's prompt word is Robot. I'm showing my age when I admit to watching Lost in Space with Will Robinson Dr. Smith.

Thank you for stopping by. I truly love reading all your comments!

Zentangle® Ellish, IX, and an Inchie

Yesterday was a holiday for our Canadian neighbors. I hope you all had a great day. I am the Diva Challenge returned today to encourage all to play with the new tangle, Ellish. I did mine on a Renaissance tile because I wanted to play with some different color combos on the tan making this tile a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art).

I used Ellish, Chillon, Meer, and a couple of giant Printemps. I used colored pencils and Stabilo colored charcoal pencils.

The prompt tangle for Square One, Facebook, is IX. I added Printemps with a sparkle, Oybay (Antonine Koval), and some perfs.

And the prompt word at Every Inchie Monday is "button". I'm a fairly easy going person until someone pushes my button.....then, watch out LOL!

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments.

Zentangle® Mooka, Fugu, and an Inchie

Laura, from I am the Diva, asked us to add "a-bit-o-black". Well, that sounded like a lot of fun. I thought I would use some Mooka and see where it would lead me. I added some Jetties to continue the theme.
The focus tangle over at Square One on Facebook is to use Fugu by CZT Sonya Yencer. I added a bit of Knightsbridge, Printemps, and Fescu.
And, the prompt word over at Every Inchie Monday is 3-D. Here is my rendition of the kind of 3-D glasses that were available when I was a child.

Thank you so much for stopping by. I really enjoy reading your comments!

Zentangle® Drupe, Pokeroot, Batumber, and an Inchie

I Am the Diva has asked us to use a duotangle of Drupe and Pokeroot this week. Being unable to come up with some clever design, I decided to play with my Inktense, a round Zentangle tile, and make a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art).
I love the tangle by Kelley Kelly, CZT, that was selected as the focus tangle over at Square One on Facebook. It is called Batumber (http://thepathuntangled.com/batumber/).
And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt word was "Brain"! I'm sure you have all heard of brain freeze. A brain freeze is when very cold things trigger a headache. The real name for it is sphenopalatine ganglioneuralgia. Don't forget it. There could be a quiz! Oh, and how I love ice cream! (This was still done one inch size, but somehow I messed up the settings in Photoshop Elements.)

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments!

Zentangle® Crux, Ruutz, and an Inchie

This week over at I am the Diva it is a Use My Tangle with a tangle called Crux by Henrike Bratz. I'm not overly fond of grid tangles. I find they require a bit more precision than my style allows, but I was determined. Turned out that I really liked working with this since Henrike showed so many fun possibilities for altering the look of this tangle. I used a Renaissance tile and added some color with blue and brown colored pencils, Sepia Pitt pastel, white charcoal pencil and just a dot in the centers of white acrylic paint pen.
Facebook's Square One has a focus tangle of Ruutz by Eni Oken. I used it in a wide style to add other tangles. I also added a technique I learned from Sonja Yencer of a muted twisted Hollibaugh behind it.

And, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt word is Monkey. Did you ever play Monkey in the Middle when you were a child? I really didn't like being the one in the middle as my athletic skills were less than stellar!
