Zentangle® Mindfully, Fife, Showgirl, and an Inchie

Laura, from I am the Diva, suggested that we slow down and do Zentangle the way it was intended and the way we were taught as Certified Zentangle Teachers. I know I am quite guilty of rushing through challenges and prepping tiles for classes myself and don't spend nearly enough time doing Zentangle the way it was intended. So, this morning I got my cup of coffee, turned off my computer and just tangled. No masterpiece in mind. It was relaxing, as it should be. Hope you will try it too!
I used Tidal, Pendrills, and Pea-Nuckle.

The focus tangle for Square One, Facebook, is to use Fife. I found that letting it just wander freely made for an interesting look.

Since I love color and one of my students has requested a bit of help with Showgirl by Vicki Basset, I did this monotangle adding some Polychromos colored pencil to the blue Micron pen.

And, finally, Every Inchie Monday has a prompt of Infinity. I just couldn't get this out of my mind and had to do it LOL! My boys loved this movie!

Thanks for stopping by. I love reading your comments!

Zentangle® Skye, Bales, and an Inchie

Skye, by CZT Margaret Bremner, is the tangle chosen by I Am the Diva this week. I have been seeing several beautiful compositions recently using this tangle but hadn't gotten around to trying it. What a fun tangle. It does require a bit of concentration though, so be ready to devote some time to it the first few times around. I added some Fife and Betweed.

Facebook's Square One's focus tangle of the week is Bales. An old favorite! I added Verve, another favorite of mine.
Humm, now that I post them both I can see some similarities. Must be getting into a rut LOL!

Every Inchie Monday's prompt word is Robot. I'm showing my age when I admit to watching Lost in Space with Will Robinson Dr. Smith.

Thank you for stopping by. I truly love reading all your comments!

Zentangle® Negative Space and an Inchie

Hello everyone! I really had fun with this week's Diva Challenge presented to us by guest hostess, Sandy Hunter CZT. She challenged us to leave some negative space. I almost always do that, so I thought I would make mine more of a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art) by beginning with something a bit more "real" as my "string"! I used Fife (with interior auras), Hurry, and Meer.
Square One's focus tangle for this week was Circuital to which I added Mooka and Jetties.
And, for Every Inchie Monday the prompt was "window". Do think before you click on "buy" so you don't throw money out the window!

Thanks for stopping by and I truly enjoy reading your comments!

A Dare, A Challenge a TOW, and Journaling Play

Another fun filled week of dares, challenges, contests, and play. I finally jumped in on the Diva Challenge. They always look like so much fun, but time wasn't on my side. Hopefully, it is from this point forward.

The two pencil challenge took me back to my art teacher days when I would have my students draw this way sometimes just for fun. It was fun to do it again:

Challenge From: I Am the Diva

And, every week I have been doing the Dare from Erin at The Bright Owl. I added Annee to this one in its "normal" usage:

I have been "trying" to win some of the new Tangle card packs from Sandy Steen Bartholomew. I have entered this one, based on her tangle "Annee" on her Facebook page. If you want to see a lot of great ones, take a peek.

I worked VERY hard trying how to do this in the round. It was difficult for my little brain, but I finally got it. I did this one too but added Fife so I could add it to my Yahoo Group TOW (tangle of the week).

For the "play" part, there is one last one, but you will have to look on my Art Journal Alleyway on the top tabs on this blog to see it.

Thanks for stopping by :)
