Zentangle® and Sakura Presentation at AZ Art Teachers' Conference 2014

I was a presenter at the AZ Art Teachers' Conference yesterday in Tempe. My presentation was "Mindfulness Through Zentangle" and I had 20 wonderful students. Sakura and Zentangle kindly sponsored me and supplied all the materials (Apprentice Kit) and some raffle prizes. Participants were enthusiastic, receptive, and did fabulous tiles.

Gift to Me From Sakura - YUMMY!

Finally I can tell you that I have been chosen by Sakura to represent their products and Zentangle® this year at the AZ Teachers' Conference in November. I had to go through an extensive application process, first through Sakura and then through the AZ committee. It took many months, but I was finally selected. I am so excited. Sakura sent me all the materials (complete Apprentice kit for 26 and much more) I need to teach AZ teachers how to use Zentangle as a classroom tool. I'll let you know how it turns out.


The Challenge this week from the Diva was to use Phicops and Diva Dance as a duotangle. Read all about it here.

 For the Facebook Group, Square One: Purely Zentangle, the tangle to use was Fescu. I added some Rain, Misst, and Jetties. Looks like I prefer my tangles to grow from the bottom up HAHA!

Over at Every Inchie Monday, they called for "Schedule". As you can see I eat while I "Internet" which is most of my day LOL!

Diva Challenge #144

The Diva Challenge this week was inspired from a video from Samantha Taylor, and Sakura America. You will find a link on the bottom right hand side of my blog. It's a cute, and short, video that was very motivating. I have some of the Sakura gel pens. They are ooooo shiny and fun to work with. I especially like the clear one that just makes things look wet. We were to include an insect in our tile. Normally, I gravitate to butterflies but I also love little ladybugs. When I was little, I actually saw a florescent pink one. I decided to do this one red because I'm sure no one would believe me anyway :)

I used a grey gel pen for the shading and a green colored pencil for the background. The shape came from a wooden ladybug piece that I had from Michael's. I used the tangles Finery and Hurry.
