Zentangle® a Spill, A-Dalpha, Trangle, and an Inchie

The Challenge, #282, over at I am the Diva, is to "Spill It". I tried coffee, but I must brew it very week as you could hardly see it. So I grabbed a bottle of Distress Ink in Antique Linen and off I went. I used the tangles Jesterz by Julia Ross, Laced by Mary Elizabeth Martin, CZT, and Jelly Roll by Suzanne McNeill, CZT.

Square One, Facebook, has a focus tangle of A-Dalpha by Bunny Wright, CZT. I added the new tangle Trangle by Jody Genouvese, CZT.

And the prompt for Every Inchie Monday is Petunia. My apologies to Petunia Pig and all I can say about that is: Th-Th-Th-That's all Folks!

Zentangle® a Watercolor Bookplate, WUD, and an Inchie

I Am The Diva, Challenge #248, is to "give the gift of Zentangle". I used a card from Suzy's Watercolor Doodles that I colored with Inktense and Prima watercolor pencils. I added a border of Quib and Laced, then some Betweed and Inapod to the heart. I finished with regular colored pencils for shadows and a white acrylic paint pen for highlights. This will be a bookplate for a gift.

The focus tangle over at Square One, Facebook, was to use WUD. I added Hurry.

And, The prompt word at Every Inchie Monday was locomotive. This is actually a tiny print out of a photo I took from the back of the steam train ride my hubby and I took in the spring on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. It was truly a beautiful trip.

Zentangle® Athitz, Quandary, and an Inchie

This week, over at the Diva Challenge, it is a UMT (use my tangle) week. The tangle chosen is brought to you by Eleanor Holt, and the tangle is named Athitz. This was so much fun (I always loved crosshatching) that I got carried away on my practice file card and didn't want to do a "normal" Zentangle tile after that. So, I pulled out a standard tile and played with some distress inks and spray acrylics and then used what happened as a base for a ZIA (Zentangle Inspired Art). I added Mooka and a bit of Fescu. When complete, I sprayed it all with Perfect Pearls for some glimmer.




For Square One, on Facebook, the tangle of the week was Quandary which I embellished with some Laced and some cones.

 And, finally, for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "kitchen". When I thought about kitchen, it brought back memories of those cold snowy days that we insisted on going out to play in. We would come home freezing, wet, and hungry. I could often see steam on the window as I was racing home knowing my mom was brewing up a huge pot of homemade chicken noodle soup. Wonderful memories.

Happy New Year With a Zentangle® Ahh and an Inchie

Another Divaless week, so all you get is a couple of things to see. I'd like to wish you all a happy and healthy New Year with lots of time for art play. I have joined way too many challenges starting in January so we'll see how well I can keep up. Several of the challenges are for art journaling, so do remember that you can click on the tabs above to see what I am up to with my different interests.

This week, on Square One, the tangle of the week was Ahh. I added double lines for the radiating arms and then let it grow into Laced.


For Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "Magical". I have no idea why I like those silly quizzes that are available on the Internet, but for some reason I do. So, I decided to take the quiz that lets me know which kind of "magical creature" I am. And, it turns out that I am a fairy.
I used a free digi stamp from Dearie Dolls and reduced it so it would fit on a one inch square and colored with colored pencils.

Zentangle® Rainbow Style, Pendrills, and an Inchie

Color! I do love color, especially when I get to play with my Copic markers. So, when I saw today's challenge from the Diva and the word "rainbow" was there, I had to jump in. I used my air brush to make the rainbow and then I did use the letters requested: LGBT =  Laced, Girdy, Beadlines, and Tipple. This tile is in support of National Coming Out Day. More details at the Diva Challenge.

For Square One on Facebook, we worked with Pendrills. I ended each one with a Zinger. Does anyone know the name of the tangle that looks like washers? I know I've seen it, maybe one of you?

And for Every Inchie Monday, the prompt was "Thistle." Did you know that, although a weed, is the emblem of the Scottish nation? I pulled out my gel pens for this one.

Inchie, Aquafleur from Zentangle®, and a Zendala

For my regular visitors, I have completed my Inchie, Dare, and Challenge, as well as a few more art journal pages.

First, the Challenge from The Diva was to do the tangle Aquafleur. I did mine on the new Renaissance tiles and used brown and sepia for the pens and then added some charcoal pencils in sepia, brown and white for accents:








Next up is an Inchie with the prompt of "ballet". I am loving doing these :)

And, finally,  the Zendala Dare from The Bright Owl. I used Laced, Girdy, and a variation of Auraknot.

Hollibaugh and Dare #58

Here it is, Sunday again. I like to complete Erin's Zendala Dare and a TOW for my Yahoo group on Sunday, if I can. I was hankering to do some laced. I added Queen's Crown in the center in a circular pattern and some Pia.
